“Oh, the unspeakable greatness of that exchange,—the Sinless One is condemned, and he who is guilty goes free; the Blessing bears the curse, and the cursed is brought into blessing; the Life dies, and the dead live; the Glory is whelmed in darkness, and he who knew nothing but confusion of face is clothed with glory.”

God, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll: An Interview with Alice Cooper

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_GW7JL0-0k
Minute 13:00 to 18:03

This video should have been entitled, “Saved by a love, from both God and spouse”. Alice Cooper came from a multi-generation Christian family, his father had been a pastor, his grandfather an evangelist. Alice Cooper was a “jock”, a cross country runner in high school: innocent, but unconverted and somewhat worldly. He got into rock music by realizing how easy it is to just start a band. The rest is history, but not a good history. Even though his intentions for a while remained relatively “innocent”, he led millions to their demise. I’m not condemning him. Thats between him and God. But I’m super-happy that he came to terms with God, because so many, even church people, don’t come to terms with their Maker. So many don’t surrender to Him. So many have never met Jesus. So many never know the Spirit of a reconciled Father, who enabled Himself to die with His Son on the cross, so that the immutable Law of His kingdom could be satisfied. So many don’t have what Alice Cooper had—the fear of the hard Law and the tender mercy shining from the cross.

The cross is the ground zero for the salvation of not only humanity sunken in the pit of sin, but also of the angelic hosts who lost their perfect trust in the Creator. The cross also saved God Himself from the loss of that perfect trust. And the cross saved the Law from its potentially loss of a foundation in love. Lucifer rigged his conspiracy so deep and convoluted that everything was at stake and everyone would lose. Nothing would ever be as happy with vulnerability and trust as it had been. Everything would have been associated with a past problem that couldn’t be rectified and a future repeat of the same. God’s Law would have remained insufficient to define the elements of happiness. God would have remained less than trustworthy. If it hadn’t been for infinite wisdom and infinite love….

Back to Alice Cooper. Eventually, his famous career led him into drugs, even though it took a while to get there. He was just having fun for many years—nothing wrong with that, right? What’s wrong with having fun? If moderated and safe and lighthearted, you can’t go wrong. Right?

Alice Cooper is lighthearted, even now after his genuine conversion. But, it is tempered with the knowledge of the bad that he is capable of doing. He could be more serious. We live in a different world and country than the 70’s. things were bad then, do doubt. But undoubtedly, everything is more corrupt today. Truly nothing will be 100% good until Jesus returns in destructive power to lay the land low. But, there needs to be a preparation for His return. There needs to be a deep repentance, a full surrender of the soul to the Law of God, and a genuine conversion to Christ.

And Alice Cooper got that genuine conversion through the fear of God’s Law, and the mercy of Christ’s self-sacrificing love.

He said, “I totally understood that hell was not getting high with Jim Morrison. Hell was going to be the worst place ever. In fear i came back to the lord. But i went to another church, and that pastor preached the love of Christ, which now you put the two together and it was exactly right.”

Not so amazingly, his conversion came from the same two part program laid out in the book, The Great Controversy, the chapter, “Modern Revivals”, pages 461, 462.

The testimony of Alice Cooper, like so many others on YouTube, follows the same footprint as the quotation from, The Great Controversy, quoted at the bottom of this post. Alice Cooper has a ministry now and attests to the work of the Spirit. He and the other YouTube witnesses have proven that the Spirit of Prophecy is the testimony of Jesus.

So, starting at minute 13:00, without any further adieu,

Alice Cooper: …that [Elvis Presley’s theme park, “Graceland”] was his [Elvis’] only contact with the outside world…. The Colonel wouldn’t let him go left, right, up, down. He couldn’t go to a movie, he couldn’t go play pool, he couldn’t go to a bar. Because that was… his little life was in that…He could have anything he wanted in that room, or Graceland, but he couldn’t leave. So, right then I realized, if anybody puts you in a mansion or no matter what, and gives you anything you want, you will find a way to kill yourself. Cause it’s not natural to be held up in a place like that. And he [Elvis] did. I mean, he ate himself to death, he drugged himself to death, and he died early.

Pastor Greg Laurie: And that’s happened to so many…

Alice Cooper: Michael Jackson…

Pastor Greg Laurie: Exactly, who ended up marrying Elvis’ daughter.

Alice Cooper: Yeah.

Pastor Greg Laurie: But it’s happened to so many Rock stars. Going back to the so called, “27 Club”, Brian Jones and…

Alice Cooper: Oh, we knew all those guys

Pastor Greg Laurie: You knew these guys. But, yet your life didn’t go that way. i mean it did for a while, didn’t it.

Alice Cooper: Could have. Could have.

Pastor Greg Laurie: And you were starting to go in that direction. You had a serious alcohol problem. And I remember hearing that you like had a big rock of cocaine. And you were like bleeding out of your eyes. It was insane.

Alice Cooper: Yeah. You know, after about two weeks, Cheryl had gone. She had gone to Chicago and said, “I can’t watch this.” But the cocaine was speaking a lot louder than her. And finally, I looked in the mirror, and it looked like my makeup. But it was blood coming down—I think. I might have been hallucinating. I don’t know. Flushed the rock down the toilet, and went to bed for three days. And I woke up and I called her, and said, “It’s done.” And she goes [incredulously], “Right!” She says, “You’re going to have to prove it.” And that was the beginning of our relationship coming back. Of course, one of the deals was we start going to church. And we started going to North Phoenix Baptist. And there was a pastor there, Jackson, who was a Hell’s fire pastor. And there’s 6,000 people there, and he was talking to me. Because I was the prodigal son. Remember I grew up in the church. My dad was a pastor. My granddad was an evangelist. And when the band happened it took me as far away as you could possibly go…. I was a poster boy of everything wrong. And then when I got sober and everything, came back to the church, realizing that’s where I belonged, there. So we started going… you know, a lot of people say that I “came to Christ because of my love of Jesus.” I came to Christ because of my fear of God.

Pastor Greg Laurie: Wow.

Alice Cooper: I totally understood that hell was not getting high with Jim Morrison. Hell was going to be the worst place ever. In fear I came back to the Lord. But I went to another church, and that pastor preached the love of Christ, which now you put the two together and it was exactly right.

Pastor Greg Laurie: well, you know, The Bible even says, “…some saved by fear.” You know, there’s a point where some people they need the hell scared out of them.

Alice Cooper: I’m telling you, because I knew if I died, and , I knew in other words, I knew who Christ was, Jesus Christ was. And I was denying him. Because I was living my own life. I was living my life without Him, I knew that there had to either come a point where I either accepted Christ and start living that life, or if I died in this, I was in a lot of trouble. And that’s what really motivated me.

Pastor Greg Laurie: What does that mean when you say, “accepted Christ”? What does it mean to accept Christ?

Alice Cooper: Well, I don’t think we accept Christ. I think we accept the fact that He accepted us. and I just got to a point of saying, “I’m tired of this life. And I know that this [seeking Christ] is right.” When people say, “Well how do you know that? Put that into words.” I go, “You can’t put that into words. Its because God opens your eyes, and He says…” you know, its supernatural.

Pastor Greg Laurie: That’s right.

Alice Cooper: And you try to tell that to people, and they go, “Well yeah, but so is voodoo. And so is this…” and I would say, “You don’t understand. And I could never explain it to you. But when the Lord opens your eyes and you suddenly realize who you are, and who He is…Oh, it’s a whole different world. And right then, I was baptized, and I went to my pastor, and I said, “I think I’ve got to quit being Alice Cooper now. And he goes, “Really? Do you think God makes mistakes?” and I went, “No.” He said, “Look where He put you.” He said, “He put you in the exact camp of the Philistines. And you were basically the leader! So now, what if you’re Alice Cooper, but what if now you’re following Christ. And you are a Rock star, but you don’t live the Rock star life. Your lifestyle is now your testimony.” And that made total sense to me….

That last part reminds me of something Paul wrote,

“But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.
Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.
For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.
Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.” (1Cor. 7:17-24).

In closing I quote from Great Controversy to let it and Alice Cooper’s testimony validate each other.

“Wherever the word of God has been faithfully preached, results have followed that attested its divine origin. The Spirit of God accompanied the message of His servants, and the word was with power. Sinners felt their consciences quickened. The ‘light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world’ illumined the secret chambers of their souls, and the hidden things of darkness were made manifest. Deep conviction took hold upon their minds and hearts. They were convinced of sin and of righteousness and of judgment to come. They had a sense of the righteousness of Jehovah and felt the terror of appearing, in their guilt and uncleanness, before the Searcher of hearts. In anguish they cried out: ‘Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?’ As the cross of Calvary, with its infinite sacrifice for the sins of men, was revealed, they saw that nothing but the merits of Christ could suffice to atone for their transgressions; this alone could reconcile man to God. With faith and humility they accepted the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world. Through the blood of Jesus they had ‘remission of sins that are past.’
These souls brought forth fruit meet for repentance. They believed and were baptized, and rose to walk in newness of life--new creatures in Christ Jesus; not to fashion themselves according to the former lusts, but by the faith of the Son of God to follow in His steps, to reflect His character, and to purify themselves even as He is pure. The things they once hated they now loved, and the things they once loved they hated. The proud and self-assertive became meek and lowly of heart. The vain and supercilious became serious and unobtrusive. The profane became reverent, the drunken sober, and the profligate pure. The vain fashions of the world were laid aside. Christians sought not the ‘outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but . . . the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.’ 1 Peter 3:3, 4.
Revivals brought deep heart-searching and humility. They were characterized by solemn, earnest appeals to the sinner, by yearning compassion for the purchase of the blood of Christ. Men and women prayed and wrestled with God for the salvation of souls. The fruits of such revivals were seen in souls who shrank not at self-denial and sacrifice, but rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer reproach and trial for the sake of Christ. Men beheld a transformation in the lives of those who had professed the name of Jesus. The community was benefited by their influence. They gathered with Christ, and sowed to the Spirit, to reap life everlasting.
It could be said of them: ‘Ye sorrowed to repentance.’ ‘For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.’ 2 Corinthians 7:9-11.” The Great Controversy, p. 461, 462.

Could I be a troubler of Israel?

“And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.” (1Chron. 2:7).

“But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.” (Josh. 7:1).

The grandson of Judah coveted at a time when Israel was holiness to the Lord. Achan committed this self-indulgent act knowing that it was so unacceptable that he did it secretly. But it was exposed by providence, when a small battle ended in much loss to the armies of the living God of Israel.

“And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?
Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.
Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.” (Josh. 7:10-13).

“When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it….
And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? The LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.
And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of His anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.” (Josh. 7:21,25,26).

“When at Oswego, New York, June, 1855, I was shown that God’s people have been weighed down with clogs; that there have been Achans in the camp. The work of God has progressed but little, and many of His servants have been discouraged because the truth has taken no more effect in New York, and there have been no more added to the church. The Messenger party has arisen, and we shall suffer some from their lying tongues and misrepresentations, yet we should bear it all patiently; for they will not injure the cause of God, now they have left us, as much as they would have injured it by their influence had they remained with us.” Testimonies for the church, vol. 1, p. 122.1.

What was Achan’s sin? It was loving this world. It was loving the creation more than the Creator, who is blessed forevermore. What was his sentence? Could this ever happen again when the people of God are truly dedicated to His will and purposes?

“     God’s frown has been brought upon the church on account of individuals with corrupt hearts being in it. They have wanted to be foremost, when neither God nor their brethren placed them there. Selfishness and exaltation have marked their course. A place is now open for all such where they can go and find pasture with those of their kind. And we should praise God that in mercy He has rid the church of them. God has given many of these persons up to their own ways to be filled with their own doings. An excitement and sympathy now leads them, which will deceive some; but every honest one will be enlightened as to the true state of this company, and will remain with God’s peculiar people, hold fast the truth, and follow in the humble path, unaffected by the influence of those who have been given up of God to their own ways, to be filled with their own doings. I saw that God had given these persons opportunity to reform, He had enlightened them as to their love for self and their other sins; but they would not heed it. They would not be reformed, and He mercifully relieved the church of them. The truth will take effect if the servants of God and the church will devote themselves to Him and His cause.
I saw that the people of God must arouse and put on the armor. Christ is coming, and the great work of the last message of mercy is of too much importance for us to leave it and come down to answer such falsehoods, misrepresentations, and slanders as the Messenger party have fed upon and have scattered abroad. Truth, present truth, we must dwell upon it. We are doing a great work, and cannot come down. Satan is in all this, to divert our minds from the present truth and the coming of Christ. Said the angel: “Jesus knows it all.” In a little from this their day is coming. All will be judged according to the deeds done in the body. The lying tongue will be stopped. The sinners in Zion will be afraid, and fearfulness will surprise the hypocrites.” Testimonies for the church, vol. 1, p. 123.1.

It appears that the troubling was happening at the beginning while the Advent Movement was still relatively pure. The 1844 Great Disappointment with William Miller was still in the memories of a few. But in 1855 many accessions to the truth had never been tested and proven as were the original 50 of the ‘44 Disappointment. What about our day, 170 years later? Shouldn’t I be trembling before God, because this very testing and trying came again at other times of purity among God’s people? Could it come to me?

This no-questions-asked/ thunders from God came at purer times in the misty past.

“And he said, I heard Thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
And He said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?...
And unto Adam He said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” (Gen. 3:10,11,17-19).

“And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
And He said, What hast thou done? The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto Me from the ground.
And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;
When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Behold, Thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from Thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.
And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.” (Gen. 4:9-16). Do I fear a second driving away?

Such correction and reproof came again later at another pure time.

“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, He hath also rejected thee from being king.” (1Sam. 15:22,23). Could this happen to me?

And again at a purer time.

“But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? And after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? Why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.” (Acts 5:1-5).

And,

“Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
What will ye? Shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?
It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.
And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.” (1Cor. 4:18-5:5).

And,

“When Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.” (Gal. 2:11).

And,

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” (1Jn. 2:15-19).

Do all of these desolating rebukes point at me?

“The greatest want of the world is the want of men—men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.” Education, p. 57.3.

Will the straight testimony happen again? Yes. If it happened at earlier times of purity in the church, then one more time, when the church will be purer than ever before, then the rebuke of God will happen again, this strong calling sin by its right name. Will I be ready? Who shall be able to stand?

“Behold, I will send My messenger, and he shall prepare the way before Me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, He shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
But who may abide the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appeareth? For He is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:
And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.” (Mal. 3:1-3).

This greatest want in the church will be removed among the 144,000 sealed servants of God. And they will receive it because they will have wrestled for it. They alone will be worthy to have the seal of God in their forehead. And it won’t come by accident or arbitrary endowment.

“But such a character is not the result of accident; it is not due to special favors or endowments of Providence. A noble character is the result of self-discipline, of the subjection of the lower to the higher nature—the surrender of self for the service of love to God and man.” Education, p. 57.4.

Who are these? When will they come??

“I saw some, with strong faith and agonizing cries, pleading with God. Their countenances were pale and marked with deep anxiety, expressive of their internal struggle. Firmness and great earnestness was expressed in their countenances; large drops of perspiration fell from their foreheads. Now and then their faces would light up with the marks of God’s approbation, and again the same solemn, earnest, anxious look would settle upon them.
Evil angels crowded around, pressing darkness upon them to shut out Jesus from their view, that their eyes might be drawn to the darkness that surrounded them, and thus they be led to distrust God and murmur against Him. Their only safety was in keeping their eyes directed upward. Angels of God had charge over His people, and as the poisonous atmosphere of evil angels was pressed around these anxious ones, the heavenly angels were continually wafting their wings over them to scatter the thick darkness.” Early Writings, p. 269.2.

“… As the praying ones continued their earnest cries, at times a ray of light from Jesus came to them, to encourage their hearts and light up their countenances.” Early Writings, p. 270.1.

“The angels of God … went to the aid of the earnest, praying ones. I saw angels of God hasten to the assistance of all who were struggling with all their power to resist the evil angels and trying to help themselves by calling upon God with perseverance.” Early Writings, p. 270.1.

“Some, I saw, did not participate in this work of agonizing and pleading. They seemed indifferent and careless. They were not resisting the darkness around them, and it shut them in like a thick cloud. The angels of God left these … His angels left those who made no effort to help themselves, and I lost sight of them.” Early Writings, p. 270.1.

“I saw that the testimony of the True Witness has not been half heeded. The solemn testimony upon which the destiny of the church hangs has been lightly esteemed, if not entirely disregarded. This testimony must work deep repentance; all who truly receive it will obey it and be purified.” Early Writings, p. 270.3.

What caused the strong faith, agonizing cries, pleading with God, pale countenances, deep anxiety, struggle, and perspiration?

“The straight testimony called forth by the counsel of the True Witness to the Laodiceans. This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver….” Early Writings, p. 270.2.

“This testimony must work deep repentance; all who truly receive it will obey it and be purified.” Early Writings, p.  270.3.

What happens next?

“The True Witness to the Laodiceans …will lead him to exalt the standard and pour forth the straight truth.” Early Writings, p. 270.2.

Doesn’t this make us shake? And will shaking now cause us to avoid the next shaking.

“Some will not bear this straight testimony. They will rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking among God’s people.” Early Writings, p. 270.2.

What caused Achan’s tragic death? The love of the world. What caused Ananias’ death? The same thing. What caused the Corinthian fornicator to be cast out into darkness? The same. (But, the environment of the church was not pure, and therefore his sentence was not as severe as Ananias’ and Sapphira’s, and he was ostracized for a while and let back in.) What caused the event at the apostolic general conference building at Jerusalem? Fearing those who loved the world. What caused the apostates to leave John’s church? Those who loved the world and the love of the Father was not in them. It was the same that troubled the early Advent movement, and still troubles it. So, what will cause the final pouring out of the straight truth by those who previously wrestled and were shaken? Won’t the cause of the shaking be the love of the world? The carnal mind. The flesh. Achan’s sin. Isn’t it the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life? Isn’t it self-medicating our empty hearts by comfort eating/ comfort drinking/ comfort smoking/ comfort drugging/ being entertained/ reading but not doing, etc. instead of seeking the Spirit of truth/ Comforter with all our hearts, minds, souls, and bodies, for true comfort?

“Are ye not carnal, and walk as men?” (1Cor. 3:3).

“The carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the Law of God, neither indeed can be.” (Rom. 8:7).

“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh.” (Rom. 8:5).

How do we measure up to the pure ancient standard, and the purer apostolic standard? How do we measure up to the sealing, and the Latter Rain that will be purer than the apostolic Early Rain, the purest of all times of reformation? Who shall be able to stand?

Paul, God’s merciful father to today’s miscreant church

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” (1Cor. 3:11-15).

I’ve often wondered about 1Corinthians 3:15. If a man’s works are burned up, why isn’t the man burned up also? We have this statement, and, in my mind, it has stood as a basic, eternal principle of the gospel.

“If you choose sin, and refuse to separate from it, the presence of God, which consumes sin, must consume you.” Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, p. 62.

Yet, this foundational principle seems to contradict Paul’s statement in 1Corinthians 3:15. What gives?

I believe that the message here comes from the two standards of the divine government: Paul’s in 1Corinthians 3:11-15, and Ellen White’s in Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing. And both standards work together. They are:

1) The righteousness of God in His justice.

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.” (Rom. 3:19).

2) The righteousness of God in His mercy.

“But now the righteousness of God without the Law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ …
Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.” (Rom. 3:21-25).

Both forms of the righteousness of God are manifested in His justice and mercy.

There is a time for justice and a time for mercy (see Ecclesiastes 2:1-8). There are situations needing some justice and a lot of mercy, and situations needing a lot of justice and some mercy, but always both justice with mercy. Never justice without mercy and never mercy without some justice. It’s easier to conceptualize justice with mercy than mercy with justice. But, with God, the great judge, it must ever be. For examples of mercy with justice, read Zechariah 3:4-7; 1Samuel 7:8-14; 2Samuel 12:13,14,10-12; Heb. 10:36-38.

Paul’s use of justice with mercy arose from the premise that Christ was the only foundation. The context of burning man’s work in 1Corinthians 3:15 is that a hypothetical “man”, i.e. in this case, the Corinthian believers who had built on the foundation of Christ. Paul is appealing to the weak and faulty believers of Corinth, inferring that when they accepted the gospel that they heard from him. Then they had begun building on the only true foundation of Christ, and they were still building on Christ. Paul wasn’t blasting them, but he was rebuking them. He is using strong language, but he not violently and hopelessly yanking the rug out from under their feet. He was being fatherly: with force, but also with love, which has one aim, to turn the children back from their path to destruction.

The assumption is that the bad behaving representatives of the most holy God are still in the fold of Christ. There is nothing political in Paul’s wise approach to this group surrounded by so thick a social atmosphere of idolatry and worldliness. All Paul sees and expects from them is the kingdom of God! The apostolic father of these Christian misfits is consumed by the eternal purposes of God and His gospel. He was possessed by, he could see nothing else except, the everlasting gospel and Law of his Redeemer!

Blind to all idolatrous excuses or earthly rationalizations, and blind to any other option, Paul walked into Corinth, like Jonah walked into Ninevah, and overthrew every god and every god’s law of living.

“Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.” (Jon. 3:4,5).

“The people of Nineveh believed God.” The Ninevites saw the unseen world, and the unseen other reality. Jonah disappeared with his heart-wrenching booms, and suddenly,  God was seen and His look of displeasure upon their evils. God’s thunders were heard, not a man’s. The charming ruse that Satan had pulled over their eyes, the strong delusion that the deceiver is so accomplished in, was instantly dissolved by the power of the Spirit.

This is what Paul was doing throughout Asia minor. The whole city of Ephesus turned into an uproar because God entered right behind Paul. “Not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands: so that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.” (Acts 19:26,27). When Paul opened his mouth God “spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” (Ps. 33:9). And Corinth had felt the heavy divine presence also.

But, Paul was only being a godly patriarch. He was speaking like Jacob, who told two extremist sons, “Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land.” (Gen. 34:30).

Things get tense inside of nuclear families! But the family unit can survive the “discussions” and the concussions because of love. And Paul was just resurrecting patriarchy. He was taking the Gentile world back to “the old paths, where is the good way” (Jer. 6:16) for the whole world once again to “find rest for your souls.” (Jer. 6:16). So long had the world departed from the ancient godliness from patriarchy.

But, Paul was bringing back the patriarchy. Over the millennia since Noah, first initiated by an apostasy under Nimrod, Satan had taken down the Gentile world into the longest known period of enslavement. They had seen every despotic, mother Godess-based form of pagan leadership—monarchies, republics, democracies, dictatorships.

Now it was time to resurrect the ancient form of leadership that had descended from the Garden of Eden—patriarchy. And it needed to return, even though Satan would take this fatherly government, the most basic and beautiful style of government based on family, and mix it with the worst of governments—the dictatorship—to form an even worse monster, the hypocritical, lying imposture—papacy. “Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” (Luke 21:24). “The court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.” (Rev. 11:2).

Regardless of however Satan would corrupt it with his Mother of gods’ vice-consecrated religion, nevertheless the family-, tribe-, and heaven-based structure needed to be re-established. Only in this balanced justice-and-mercy, father based social construct can real righteousness be grown, full rehabilitation from vice be honed, and true, strong leadership be known. Better than benevolent democracies, republics, monarchies, in patriarchy alone the true purpose of God can be realized in humanity.

Because God is love, effective punishment from a Christ-like parent is all about gentleness and caring love.

“Fear thou not, O Jacob My servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.” (Jer. 46:28).

“I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
But My mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.” (2Sam. 7:14,15).

Paul wasn’t trying to destroy any who weren’t fully possessed by Satan’s purposes, but were in Christ, as David and Solomon had been. Paul was trying to save men’s lives, while, for the family’s sake, removing the stubborn rebel Korahs, Dathans, and Abriams (see Numbers 16). So, he dealt somewhat harshly with the Corinthians believers, but always, always, always in love!

“Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
What will ye? Shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?” (1Cor. 4:18-21).

Paul was this way because he was their father. “For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.” (1Cor. 4:15).

Therefore, as long as they claimed Paul in Christ’s name, he would claim them as his children in Christ, and treat them as children still under Christ. In their behalf, would intercede before Christ, and he could claim the everlasting covenant that goes with parent-children relationships. Apart from each Korah, the true Corinthian believers had built on the foundation of Christ. Paul is appealing to the weak and faulty believers of Corinth, inferring that when they accepted the gospel that they heard from him. Then they had begun building on the only true foundation of Christ, and they were still building on Christ.

The rules of such a covenant exchange grace for trust. The behavior might burst out in terrible ugliness requiring the implementation of justice, but the bonds of familial faith and love will always keep the door of mercy open for the miscreant. If the offending child or children will bow to the justice, then they automatically receive the unreserved grace. Within the bonds of trust that are built from infancy, the renewed trust is genuine and is accepted immediately by the parent. This has been God’s plan and His method since the beginning.

We see this in both Testaments. It is the everlasting covenant-everlasting gospel with its immediate response from the discerning God of ministering spirits.

“I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn Thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.
Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.
Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a pleasant child? For since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore My bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.” (Jer. 31:18-20).

“I will arise and go to my Father, and will say unto Him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before Thee,
And am no more worthy to be called Thy son: make me as one of Thy hired servants.
And he arose, and came to his Father. But when he was yet a great way off, his Father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.” (Luke 15:18-20).

In the true religion of truth and grace, justice and mercy, we have the only religion of power to run the spirit of Satan out of contrite minds.

So, for me it was a beautiful thing to understand 1Corinthains 3:15. I needed to see the context better, that the burning of a man’s works didn’t destroy the man if, and only if, he had begun to build on the foundation of Christ—that is, through being humbled, every mouth shut before the reproving Law, the yardstick of the great Schoolmaster, “who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.” (1Tim. 6:15,16).

“Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come” (Rev. 14:7), “that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.” (Rom. 3:19). Everyone who has been humbled by conviction of sin will come to Christ for the only Saviour from sin and its condemnation by the great Judge of heaven and the earth.

“Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool…: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at My word.” (Isa. 66:1,2).

“For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.” (Jer. 30:11).

“Wherefore the law was our Schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” (Gal. 3:24).

“All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me” (John 6:37).

And if, and only if we have accepted the powerful conviction of sin and been driven to God’s appointed Intercessor, and when we have become Christ’s, then and only then no man can take us out of His hand. Then He can promise us, “If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: but My mercy shall not depart away from him.” (2Sam. 7:14,15).

This is not cheap grace, but the fullness of infinite, divine grace and mercy, and fatherly love of God the Father and of His Son Jesus Christ.

The spreading abomination of desolation

Maybe soon I will be considered a terrorist because I have warned of the approaching Jesuit papacy, Jesuit New World Order, and Jesuit New Age/world religion/ethnic pagan culture world. I have used this blog (https://prophecyandpolitics.blogspot.com/) to help people see the signs of the new Jesuit controlled world.

We need to watch for more than the weather and nature to fully obey Jesus’ command,

“Take heed that no man deceive you.” (Matt. 24:4).

And,

“For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left His house, and gave authority to His servants, and to every man His work, and commanded the porter to watch.
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the Master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
Lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping.
And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” (Mark 13:34-37).

We need to study Bible prophecy and see the prophecies being fulfilled in our day, right before our eyes.

The Jesuit papacy is the Revelation 17 eighth head of the Beast power that ascends from the bottomless pit of Hades and goes into perdition. It is the grand finale of Satan’s attempt to restore the great apostasy that occurred in the years following Noah’s deliverance from the worldwide flood. Ham, Cush, and Nimrod created a 180° reversal of the righteous government that Noah established in the new world.

Noah labored to form a world that would never again be destroyed by God. But, not everyone was surrendered to God and His Law. A reaction took place. Out of that reaction were born the basest iniquity and debauchery, prostitution and slavery, dictatorial empires and crimes of the state, necromancy and spiritualism, idolatrous nature worship. Ham, Cush, Nimrod, and his wife Semiramis resurrected all that caused the earth’s destruction, which was everything we read in Romans 1:21-32, 2Tim. 3:1-5, Galatians 5:19-21.

Those last three lengthy texts can be condensed into one,

“Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.” (Eph. 4:18,19).

Read these texts and you will know what is coming to this worldlegalized or legislated lawlessness, lawlessness on steroids. Are you interested? It will be the strong delusion that will make part of the 8 billion people decide to go with the Lord all the way, rather than throw themselves into the circus atmosphere. It is no wonder Isaiah prophesied, “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people.” (Isa. 60:2). The Bible says that most of the 8 billion will go head or heels, or will go along without a fight. Which way will we go?

This is the perdition that the eighth head of the Beast power brings up from the bottomless pit. This eighth head is the original head of the Beastthe empire of Nimrod. In the long ago, it received a wound by a sword, that is, the sword of Shem. And like the sword of the Bible and of Napoleon, which wounded the second edition of Nimrod’s departure from truth, that is, that wounded the Roman papacy, the sword that wounded the first departure was more than Shem’s physical, state sword. That sword also carried the authority of the Lord God who put Noah on the throne of the world. Noah was heavens authorized viceroy of Christ, not Ham, Cush, or Nimrod.

Both spiritual and carnal swords were the instruments of Providence to crush the serpent’s head. but, it came back to life. The first edition of the Beast returned to power in Imperial Rome because Israel failed to spread the righteousness of Jehovah around the world. Instead they got caught up in worshiping the first edition of the Beast along with the heathen nations. Maybe you know where I am going with this thread.

Yes, the second edition has returned to life and power again. It was loosed from its imprisonment in the bottomless pit (I believe) in 1849 (in the middle of the Sabbath Conferences) beginning the fifth trumpet of the seventh seal. And, once again the people of God, the Protestant churches—Protestant America has failed to stop its resurgence from its prison. The churches, Protestant and Adventist movements, like the ancient people of God, Israel and Judah, have been unable to stop the Beast’s second and final resurgence. Why the failure?

Because you can’t kill something you worship. Both groups have gotten caught up in worshiping the Beast’s pagan celebration, its praise music, its cheap grace doctrine, and its Spiritual Formation piety. Isn’t that what the people of God are doing today in the Protestant and Adventist churches? Maybe the eighth head is already here? Are we going to go along with the eighth Beast head with the rest of the 8 billion people? Or resist? Are we sure we’ll resist it, if we we'll been worshiping the Beast for so long? We need the grace of God to start resisting now. We need much ingestion of the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy. We need to know Jesus.

The seven heads of the Beast are its extra heads that have the Beast’s religion and dictatorial state, and thus the Beast’s spirit. These are the empires around the Mediterranean (Middle of the earth) Sea, and have been used by Satan to keep his place in the fundamental thinking of humanity. The seven heads are ancillary heads to the Beast. The eighth head is the original head described as, “the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.” (Rev. 17:8).

That eighth head is the Beast power that joins all the kings of the earth together at the very end.

“And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” (Rev. 17:12-14).

So here is an article from SDA pastor, Hal Mayer. It is why I’m wondering how much longer I’ll have this blog.

“FBI Wants Tech to Track Social Media for Criminals and Terrorists
Tuesday August 20th, 2019

Raw Conservative Opinions, by Brandi Vincent: The Federal Bureau of Investigations aims to acquire access to a ‘social media early alerting tool’ that will help insiders proactively and reactively monitor how terrorist groups, foreign intelligence services, criminal organizations and other domestic threats use networking platforms to further their illegal efforts, according to a request for a proposal amended this week.

‘With increased use of social media platforms by subjects of current FBI investigations and individuals that pose a threat to the United States, it is critical to obtain a service which will allow the FBI to identify relevant information from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms in a timely fashion,’ the agency said in the RFP.

‘Consequently, the FBI needs near real-time access to a full range of social media exchanges in order to obtain the most current information available in furtherance of its law enforcement and intelligence missions.’

Though the request was initially released on July 8, the FBI amended it this week to extend the relevant dates: The agency’s answers to vendors moved from July 25 to Aug. 7, and the proposal due date shifted from Aug. 8 to Aug. 27. Though the original proposal listed the anticipated award date as Aug. 30, it could be pushed back due to these changes.

Still, the proposal comes at a time when society is growing accustomed to the painful reality of the weaponization of social media outlets to cause harm. Earlier this year, a mass shooter in New Zealand opened fire at two mosques killing 50 people and injuring many more – he posted a 74-page manifesto and images of his weapons online ahead of the attack and livestreamed the shooting directly on Facebook Live. And the shooter who killed three people at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California Sunday also previously posted online about an 1890 racist manifesto, which has been deemed a ‘staple among neo-Nazis and white supremacists on extremist sites.’

‘It is an acknowledged fact that virtually every incident and subject of FBI investigative interest has a presence online,’ the bureau said in the project’s statement of objectives.
‘The mission critical exploitation of social media enables the Bureau to proactively detect, disrupt, and investigate an ever growing diverse range of threats.’

The FBI ultimately wants an interactive tool that can be accessed by all headquarters
division and field office personnel via web browsers and through multiple devices. Interested vendors should have the capabilities to offer the agency the ability to set filters around the specific content they see, send immediate and custom alerts and notifications around ‘mission-relevant’ incidents, have broad international reach and a strong language translation capability and allow for real-time geolocation-based monitoring that can be refined as events develop.

And when it comes to specific persons-of-interest and suspects already involved in open investigations, the bureau wants the ability to obtain their full-scope social media profiles from across the various platforms and insights into their affiliations with various groups across the world wide web.

‘Items of interest in this context are social networks, user IDs, emails, IP addresses and
telephone numbers, along with likely additional accounts with similar IDs or aliases,’ the agency said. . . .

Our Comment:

Surveillance was a feature of Jezebel’s war on the sons of the prophets. In fact, every government that persecutes a sector of society has used surveillance to detect individuals from that particular sector. This FBI proposal is preparing the way for persecution against God’s people.

Prophetic Link:

‘For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the Lord, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.’ 1 Kings 18:4.”

Dear faithful blog readers, time is short.

We need much prayer for conviction of sin, and we need repentance. We need to know Jesus and His love and patience with weak and sinful people. We need to know the Jesus who is touched with the feelings of our infirmities. We need to take our corrected conception of His love and mercy, and help others in their misconceptions of Jesus and the Father. And we need to give up on Nimrod’s evil partnership with the Trinity god. We need to have fellowship with the Father and His only begotten Son Godhead. Comment on a "Jesus is truth" video

Your first testimony is so amazing and genuine. I was still astounded by it when your Facebook site showed it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTNX3CaFP1M

I can’t forget the way you painted a picture with words, “...in that moment, wow, like every cell in my body, every fiber of my being just rejoiced.”

What a moving statement! It came from this larger context,

“Jesus, You are real! You died for us! You’re our Saviour! And through You we get to Christ our Father, and this is God! This is God—surrendering to Jesus!” And in that moment, wow, like every cell in my body, every fiber of my being just rejoiced. It just was like, “Thank God she’s got it! Thank God she’s finally accepted it!” And my heart was flooded with this light and this love.” Everyone needs to watch this testimony.

Before I saw your testimony I was watching other testimonies and transposing (transcribing) them and putting them on my blog. So I did the same with yours.

Do you think that, “Thank God she’s got it! Thank God she’s finally accepted it!”, was your human interpretation of the angels praising God at that moment, their praises transported to you through the Spirit?

“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” (Luke 15:10).

And that spiritual light, was it from the angels?

“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” (Heb 1:14).

Just something to think about. And something so precious as our first surrender to Jesus needs to be our benchmark for the spiritual experiences later on. Sort of a calibrator, so that we aren’t handed a counterfeit that seems right, but the ends thereof can become the ways of death.

I believe there is wisdom in keeping close to the experience we had when it was ever so obvious that real providence was at work, and a real, permanent connection was made with heaven. Like Israelites’ deliverance from Egyptian bondage, which they forgot and eventually were led off into spiritualism. Our whole testimony is a barrier against Satan and his hosts. This is not to set the power of biblical truth aside. The words that Jesus put in the Bible are spirit and they are life.

True, our testimony doesn’t rank up there with scripture, but without it we can loose the strength of authority we hold in the scriptures. There is nothing more relevant than the Bible to everyone seeking God through Christ. Why can’t the Bible writers’ testimony parallel ours?

Godspeed, sister.

In Christ,

David

Love begets love, the two great commandments

Love, as an experience instead of as a theory, makes the difference between the true Christian and the wrong Christian. But, what were Christ’s disciples like? I think they were on the way to being true Christians, and Jesus was patient with them and kept testing them. How patient and gentle was Jesus with Nicodemus the Pharisee! So, Jesus gave us the example to be gentle and patient with believers who fall short of being the fully mature Christian. They will be won over by our carefulness with them.

Even the two great commandments can be claimed by those who only have the theory of love. They are sure they are obeying the commandment. But because they are blind to their condition or ignorant of real love, they get ostracized by the church. So, so many in the church have never known love during their life. How can they conceptualize what they never experienced?

We all bring baggage when we join the people of God. Many don’t pass through the floods and the fire like you did before they join. And so they really don’t have such a solid connection with Jesus as a result. But something is pulling them into the church! It must be Jesus patiently working with their hearts. Let’s all be mindful of this. And I’m sure you are. When we slip up and treat these brethren or sisters roughly, let’s go back quickly and humbly ask forgiveness. When we roughly treat the least of Jesus’ brethren we greatly displeased Him. Hopefully we haven’t done so much damage that they won’t be utterly destroyed by us and never be seen again. Sometimes it doesn’t take much. “If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man.” (Jas. 3:2). We need more perfect men and women of God.

Blessings, Chelsea. Thank you for this video.
