“Oh, the unspeakable greatness of that exchange,—the Sinless One is condemned, and he who is guilty goes free; the Blessing bears the curse, and the cursed is brought into blessing; the Life dies, and the dead live; the Glory is whelmed in darkness, and he who knew nothing but confusion of face is clothed with glory.”

The Beast that was

"The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.... And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition." (Rev. 17:8,11).

I've been reading about the major ancient pagan festival days. They all involved human sacrifices and promiscuity. The festivities had a twofold purpose.

1) To satisfy the people's superstitious gods that controlled the elements, and thus, food production. These new gods that were feared required propitiation via worship and a covenant by sacrifice, as was passed down from the ancients. But, the people having forgotten their Creator, the gods could demand human sacrifices, both children and adults.

2) To satisfy a devil possessed priesthood whose conscience was so dead from serving Satan and his hosts that fornication with all the women once a year was the required remuneration for the priests' service of praying away the evils threatened by the much feared gods. The people refusing such an affront against human rights and conscience would have reprehensible repercussions by the priests going to the home of the protester and forcing remuneration. Ignorant of Jehovah, the people had no power to resist the  manipulations, and the retributive judgments by the priesthood remained a perpetual, accepted practice.

Misery and sorrow was the way of ancient pagan life, so Satan devised a respite. On solstices and equinoxes, and each month, the social mores of Noah's godly government were temporarily suspended so that lawlessness could be enjoyed by the general public. Since the fallen nature affected the whole world, gradually these unholy practices, which were bold blows upon their personal Saviour, spread throughout each small community and nation until, after many generations, the festivals became accepted tradition, even unquestionable religious dogma. The doctrines of wicked men thus legitimized and instilled, the people were complicit, and, being accomplices, were thus never able to extricate themselves from the rebellion of Satan and his priests.

The god Saturn, or Kronos, and father of all gods, originally was the deified man, Nimrod. This giant only two generations after the super race of antediluvians, had a rock hard body, as well as a rock hard self-will and determination. Inheriting natural born leadership skills, the natural thirst for knowledge, and the rebellion of his father and grandfather mounting in him, Nimrod was the crescendo of a three generation, accumulated spite toward the things of God.

From Nimrod originated the abominations of the world from ancient times to our day. The drunken debauchery now seen in nightclubs and house parties, all descend from him. Satan has found no one more satisfying for himself to inhabit than this one man of gigantic urges from his insatiable super-hormones and his implacable temper.

Religious art work from the unholy Dark Ages shows young adults laying around immodest and pleasure seeking, enjoying the special privileges that come from being children of the elite. The paintings seek to evoke a yearning for the pagan lifestyle of the classic ancient millionaire oligarchies. Is that not what we see today? Even biblically themed art displays the same nudity as the pagan art. The world and the church worshiped the same gods. And the gods all descended from Nimrod. He was the "mighty hunter (in place of) the Lord". (Gen. 10:9).

Aren't we seeing Nimrod's godless debauchery today in America in the endless partying and blotting from minds the sins that are reaching up to heaven and awakening wrath in the mighty God of perfect righteousness, who must witness it all? Aren't we seeing a gradual regression from post-Reformation, moral uprightness to backsliding into the most egregious heathenism? Who will fear Him who can destroy both body and soul in everlasting destruction, forever cut off from everlasting peace and rest?

This is a telltale fulfillment of Revelation's prophecy and but a foretaste of it's prophesied "perdition" (Rev. 17:11).

"The beast that was" (Rev. 17:8) points to Nimrod's great apostasy that erupted shortly after the Genesis flood. His explosion of wickedness happened while Noah was still alive and strongly enforcing God's kingdom of heaven on Earth. "The beast that was" signifies none other than Nimrod, great-grandson of Noah.

"Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth...
And the sons of Ham; Cush,...
And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter [in place of, vicar] the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before [in place of, vicar] the Lord". (Gen. 10:1,6,8-10).

Nimrod was no fool, as his name connotes these days, but feared and famed for his total renunciation and denunciation of the holiness and dependence on the Spirit of God that characterized his great-grandfather, the then reigning king on Earth. Noah "found grace in the eyes of the Lord".

"Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and ... walked with God." (Gen. 6:8,9). Until the end of his life, he continued to be a "preacher of righteousness" (2Pet. 2:5). His faith worked, as he "moved with fear", "being warned of God of things not seen as yet, ...prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith." (Heb. 11:7).

But, His great-grandson couldn't stomach righteousness. Possessed by the spirit of rebellion, he was driven from beneath to overthrow the holy, just, fair, non-discriminatory, and good government of God. A myth from deep antiquity details a man who found heaven to be too close for comfort, just inches above the ground. With tremendous exertion he pushed heaven up four feet. Eventually, with a violent thrust he pushed God's palpable presence and His principles of righteousness far beyond the galaxies of deep space.

"All tradition from the earliest times bears testimony to the apostacy of Nimrod, and to his success in leading men away from the patriarchal faith, and delivering their minds from that awe of God and fear of the judgments of heaven that must have rested on them while yet the memory of the flood was recent. And according to all the principles of depraved human nature, this too, no doubt, was one grand element in his fame; for men will readily rally around any one who can give the least appearance of plausibility to any doctrine which will teach that they can be assured of happiness and heaven at last, though their hearts and natures are unchanged, and though they live without God in the world.
How great was the boon conferred by Nimrod on the human race, in the estimation of ungodly men, by emancipating them from the impressions of true religion, and putting the authority of heaven to a distance from them, we find most vividly described in a Polynesian tradition, that carries its own evidence with it. John Williams, the well known missionary, tells us that, according to one of the ancient traditions of the islanders of the South Seas, 'the heavens were originally so close to the earth that men could not walk, but were compelled to crawl' under them. 'This was found a very serious evil; but at length an individual conceived the sublime idea of elevating the heavens to a more convenient height. For this purpose he put forth his utmost energy, and by the first effort raised them to the top of a tender plant called teve, about four feet high. There he deposited them until he was refreshed, when, by a second effort, he lifted them to the height of a tree called Kauariki, which is as large as the sycamore. By the third attempt he carried them to the summits of the mountains; and after a long interval of repose, and by a most prodigious effort, he elevated them to their present situation.' For this, as a mighty benefactor of mankind, 'this individual was deified; and up to the moment that Christianity was embraced, the deluded inhabitants worshipped him as the 'Elevator of the heavens.' 'Now, what could more graphically describe the position of mankind soon after the flood, and the proceedings of Nimrod ... than this Polynesian fable?

"While the awful catastrophe by which God had showed His avenging justice on the sinners of the old world was yet fresh in the minds of men, and so long as Noah, and the upright among his descendants, sought with all earnestness to impress upon all under their control the lessons which that solemn event was so well fitted to teach, 'heaven,' that is, God, must have seemed very near to earth. To maintain the union between heaven and earth, and to keep it as close as possible, must have been the grand aim of all who loved God and the best interests of the human race. But this implied the restraining and discountenancing of all vice and all those 'pleasures of sin,' after which the natural mind, unrenewed and unsanctified, continually pants. This must have been secretly felt by every unholy mind as a state of insufferable bondage. 'The carnal mind is enmity against God,' is 'not subject to His law,' neither indeed is 'able to be' so. It says to the Almighty, 'Depart from us, for we desire not the knowledge of Thy ways.' So long as the influence of the great father of the new world was in the ascendant, while his maxims were regarded, and a holy atmosphere surrounded the world, no wonder that those who were alienated from God and godliness, felt heaven and its influence and authority to be intolerably near, and that in such circumstances they 'could not walk,' but only 'crawl,'--that is, that they had no freedom to 'walk after the sight of their own eyes and the imaginations of their own hearts.' From this bondage Nimrod emancipated them. By the apostacy he introduced, by the free life he developed among those who rallied around him, and by separating them from the holy influences that had previously less or more controlled them, he helped them to put God and the strict spirituality of His law at a distance, and thus he became the 'Elevator of the heavens,' making men feel and act as if heaven were afar off from earth, and as if either the God of heaven 'could not see through the dark cloud,' or did not regard with displeasure the breakers of His laws. Then all such would feel that they could breathe freely, and that now they could walk at liberty. For this, such men could not but regard Nimrod as a high benefactor....

"According to the system which Nimrod was the grand instrument in introducing, men were led to believe that a real spiritual change of heart was unnecessary, and that so far as change was needful, they could be regenerated by mere external means. Looking at the subject in the light of the Bacchanalian orgies, which, as the reader has seen, commemorated the history of Nimrod, it is evident that he led mankind to seek their chief good in sensual enjoyment, and showed them how they might enjoy the pleasures of sin, without any fear of the wrath of a holy God. In his various expeditions he was always accompanied by troops of women; and by music and song, and games and revelries, and everything that could please the natural heart, he commended himself to the good graces of mankind." The Two Babylons, p. 48, 53.

As disturbing as was that ancient departure from the new world of holy Noah back again to the wicked, old world of the vanquished antediluvians, more disturbing is the rest of the vision of Revelation 17 verses 8 and 11.

"The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition:
.... And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

I used to interpret the beast that "was" as the Dark Ages Papacy. This beast is seen with seven heads, which are seven kings, or kingdoms (verse 10). "And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space." I believed that the beast of Revelation 17 was the fifth king/kingdom, Dark Ages Papacy, and that the four kindgoms preceding it were the four showcased in Daniel 2, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and imperial Rome. That would mean that the sixth kingdom was Protestant America, and the seventh kingdom has been the short period since 1999, Protestant America apostitizing, morphing into a religio-political, Evangelical-Vatican, Christian America. And I did notice that the eighth kingdom must be the original kingdom of Nimrod reappearing just before Jesus returns. It would be Satan's last stand, and last chance to lead a deceived world back into Nimrod apostasy.

But, not until yesterday did it hit me just how  deeply depraved and openly defiant Nimrod and his followers were, and how determined he and his wife, Semiramis, were to permanently overthrow the government that God authorized Noah to institute in order to keep the world from being destroyed again for its wickedness. And I suddenly saw how fearfully wicked will be the great time of trouble. As Daniel 12:10 reads, "Many shall be purified, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly."

I see that paganism, past and present, had to remain underground. But, in the meantime satanic hosts have colluded with pagans, working overtime behind the scenes to keep humanity distracted from, or ignorant of, their Reformation high standard of goodness, which might lead the world to repentance.

The pagan-satanic union has in its purposes the slow introduction of the pre-flood corruption into the already sinful race, first among the revelling elite, and later among the enslaved masses. That gigantic ogre, the man-eating great-grandson of Noah, will come back to life in the form of a voracious Jesuit Nazi-Communist Vatican.

"The beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition." "And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: and upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus." (Rev. 17:4-6).

"The beast that thou sawest was, and is not." (Rev. 17:8). "...is not" indicates that the grip which Satan and paganism had on the world was interrupted by Messiah Jesus. Providence would no longer permit the pagan beast and Satan their unrestricted power over the people. As Jesus said it a week before His great act of propitiation, "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out." (John 12:31). Lucifer was cast out of all pity still residing in the hearts of the heavens hosts, and in all who would be drawn into the bosom of Jesus.

"And she [the Israelite church] brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne....
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him....
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent." (Rev. 12:5,7-9,11-14).

During this period of increased light from Pentecost that Jesus injected into the world, human sacrifices ceased, per se. Paganism must determinedly  strengthen the case against itself in the heavenly court. So, human sacrifices would happen under the ruse of punishing heretics, "... they loved not their lives unto the death." (Rev. 12:11).

"And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled." (Rev. 6:9-11).

The Counter-Reformation purified the church, as seen in the fifth seal and opened the way for a new form of protection from the Beast. Out of that religio-political attack on Jehovah's planet, the new refuge for truth and freedom from despotism came forth the United States Constitution.

"And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them." (Rev. 11:7).

During the papal supremacy, from 538 to 1798, there had been constant preaching the gospel and teaching the Bible, which caused continual martyrdom. After 1798 and the rise of Protestant America, the world had relative peace. But, now the Beast's human sacrifices would come through national defense. World wars plagued humanity due to the Jesuit control of the Protestant Germany, Protestant England,  and Protestant America, the Jesuits using the policy of "Protestants killing Protestants" without them knowing the real reason they were killing each other. Eventually U.S. national defense turned into aggressor offense, as the second beast of Revelation 13:11-17 began to speak like the dragon.

Therefore, because the Protestant mighty and holy people were corrupted, and although Christ had entered into the heavenly Most Holy Place, His power over Satan would be intercepted.

The papal beast "shall ascend out of the bottomless pit...." (Rev. 17:8). The manifestation of this ascension of demonic power has been recognized only of late, but it actually began secretly in 1849. It occurs to the Protestant dominated world during the fifth trumpet's California Gold Rush to the stock market gold rush, from 1849 to 1999.

Then in the sixth trumpet, Revelation 9 shows the final demise of Protestantism. All apostatizing Protestants, whose conscience and faith would believe the demonic mastermind's evolution science and party down social climate, were cut off from God and tormented during the fifth trumpet. And their consciences were finally killed in the sixth trumpet, from the year 2000 to the final overthrow of Noah's old world order that was founded upon faith and family.

Opposed to the effort of the satanic hosts, Christ and His hosts would use preaching of the gospel and sacred truths, improved common sense, the loving and trusting family unit, the church in the wilderness, the witness of nature and its evidences for faith in God, all these to woo Protestant hearts into a reconciliation with, and reconnection to, their Unknown God of the Reformation. Simultaneously, as Satan would glamorize and sensationalize self-indulgence and godless pleasure, Christ and His hosts would glorify self-sacrifice and would bring conviction of wholesome self-denial.

But, how does Revelation show the final end to occur?

"The beast that thou sawest ... shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is." (Rev. 17:8).

So, what we must expect from Covid 19/21 lockdowns and vaccine rollouts? What can we expect from the Covid related global Communism? It will be a world without freedom and without righteousness. Genuine, deep love will be vanquished from the earth. The prehistoric world of Nimrod's flagrant and forced depravity will return with long awaited, wrathful vengeance.

While the Advent Movement was still in its Sabbath conferences, receiving the Lord's investigative judgment message for the world, Nimrod's resuscitated spirit began its ascent from the bottomless prison in 1849, with its sights on world dominion. Under a furious Jesuit Vatican, driven by a fiendish host of dark demons, the spirit that possessed Nimrod has finished the sixth head/world power of Protestant America, and has almost completed its seventh head/aggressor nation of Evangelical America that will act as the smooth transition into a rabid New Age religion of the occult, and the equally rabid New World Order government of global Communism. As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the Son of man.

There will be no mercy for billions of "useless eaters" and "useless breathers", which the Jesuit Vatican proclaims are eating up all the world's food, breathing all the world's oxygen, and then exhaling carbon dioxide pollution into a world that must be pristine before king Lucifer arrives from Mother Nature's astral planes. There will be no pity for deceived, arrogant Protestant Americans. Even more will mercy fail for Adventists, and to even a greater degree for the remnant Adventists and Protestants who won't stop trusting Jesus though they suffer dearly for it.

And, as the antediluvians perished by divine retribution, the prophesied Jesuit resurrected, Nimrod wickedness will bring down the same divinely  determined destruction upon the whole world, the masses, the Jesuits, the Masons, and the Vatican. All will get a short taste, but no one will see Satan's promised millennium of carnal peace.

Then Satan will be satisfied when he sees the destruction of "they that dwell on the earth", "all the world" (Rev. 17:8; 13:3), the completely corrupted, longed for but lost, children made in God's image who were created to bring their Father glory.

Possession by faith

"Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling". (Jude 24).

"When the soul surrenders itself to Christ, a new power takes possession of the new heart. A change is wrought which man can never accomplish for himself. It is a supernatural work, bringing a supernatural element into human nature. The soul that is yielded to Christ becomes His own fortress, which He holds in a revolted world, and He intends that no authority shall be known in it but His own. A soul thus kept in possession by the heavenly agencies is impregnable to the assaults of Satan." Desire of ages, p. 324.

Possession by heavenly agencies is a powerful thought. We know that there is possession by satanic agencies. Scripture clearly shows us possession by demonic influences.

"Every soul that refuses to give himself to God is under the control of another power. He is not his own. He may talk of freedom, but he is in the most abject slavery. He is not allowed to see the beauty of truth, for his mind is under the control of Satan. While he flatters himself that he is following the dictates of his own judgment, he obeys the will of the prince of darkness. Christ came to break the shackles of sin-slavery from the soul. 'If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.' 'The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus' sets us 'free from the law of sin and death.' (Rom. 8:2).Desire of Ages, p. 466.

But doesn't the Bible show us possession by faith in Jesus, possession by His influence? Isn't possession by faith the way to righteousness by faith? Therefore, we must conclude that righteousness comes by possession by Jesus. Righteousness by another possession. As it is written, "He led captivity captive." (Eph. 4:8).

This concept is nothing more than a development of the embrace of God. It's the bosom of God! It's love, infinite, eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, divine love. It's ownership by God. Are you afraid of a love that means ownership? Not owned by God, as in an inanimate object, a pet, or chattel. But as a prized soul captivated by a love that is stronger than death. Are you afraid of such a love if it has built in restrictions and requirements and commitments? But, what if, in all love's restrictions and requirements and commitments, it offers the highest sense of freedom? What if, as He promised, Jesus' burden really is light because of love? Doesn't love make us levitate and float? Union with our Redeemer is the only safe trip.

"In the work of redemption there is no compulsion. No external force is employed. Under the influence of the Spirit of God, man is left free to choose whom he will serve. In the change that takes place when the soul surrenders to Christ, there is the highest sense of freedom. The expulsion of sin is the act of the soul itself. True, we have no power to free ourselves from Satan's control; but when we desire to be set free from sin, and in our great need cry out for a power out of and above ourselves, the powers of the soul are imbued with the divine energy of the Holy Spirit, and they obey the dictates of the will in fulfilling the will of God." Desire of Ages, p. 466.

So, are we willing to surrender to Christ and come under His omnipotent control of omnipotent love? Will we come into the union within "the Beloved". In the Beloved-- i.e. adopted, accepted, brought into the union between the Father and the Son. "At that day (the day of Pentecost) ye shall know that I am in My Father, and ye in Me, and I in you." (John 14:20). Oh, blessed thought.

"Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved" (Eph. 1:5,6)-- i.e. the Commonwealth, the counsel of peace between Them both.

But wait! First we must do the first work. Let's not forget the Schoolmaster! We must come under the Law, God's Law, "the curse of the Law" (Gal. 3:13). Once we have received the accusation from the great Schoolmaster (per Galatians 3:24, Romans 3:19, and Early Writings, p. 270.2,3), and deep submission has brought our case before His throne for judgment, then He brings us to Christ to be justified by the faith that we gained while we were learning to submit to God's will. "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." (Heb. 10:10). In justification we have the highest sense of freedom.

"The only condition upon which the freedom of man is possible is that of becoming one with Christ. 'The truth shall make you free;' and Christ is the truth. Sin can triumph only by enfeebling the mind, and destroying the liberty of the soul. Subjection to God is restoration to one's self,—to the true glory and dignity of man. The divine law, to which we are brought into subjection, is 'the law of liberty.' (Jas. 2:12)." Desire of Ages, p. 466.

If we go to the only qualified interpreter of God's Law, the only modern prophet, Ellen White, then we can learn what God sees regarding our condition.

Otherwise, we say in our heart, "We will not have this Man to reign over us." (Luke 19:14). But if we obey the gospel Galatians 3:24, two-step science of salvation, then we receive the promised "Spirit of His Son" (Gal. 4:6) who is "the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father" (Rom. 8:15). The Law has been written in our hearts, and God's new covenant with us is written in stone. In Christ all His promises are, "Yea, Yea".

The promise is ours:

"Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is His name: If those ordinances depart from before Me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me for ever." (Jer. 31:35,36).

"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Gal. 3:29).
