“Oh, the unspeakable greatness of that exchange,—the Sinless One is condemned, and he who is guilty goes free; the Blessing bears the curse, and the cursed is brought into blessing; the Life dies, and the dead live; the Glory is whelmed in darkness, and he who knew nothing but confusion of face is clothed with glory.”

Part 1

This is a two part post. The second part follows below. I wanted to present another transcribed message from a former Wiccan, New Age devotee, and Muslim now turned disciple of Christ. But first this word of caution.

I can appreciate her precious communion with Jesus. She is “in Him”, “in the Beloved”. (Eph. 1:10, 6, cf vs. 3,7,9). She has responded to the call of Jesus. She has surrendered to Him and is obeying His gospel. “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand [power].” (John 10:28). “Let him take hold of My strength, that he may make peace with Me; and he shall make peace with Me.” (Isa. 27:5).

But, she has a misconception about the Sabbath. I am happy for her, but also a little sad. Satan will do anything to discredit the Sabbath and the Sabbath day. And he never removes anything of God’s without a replacement that brings glory to himself. Victory over his deceitful constructs requires discernment that only the Spirit of Christ can give. Like she proclaims, “Jesus is the truth”. He is the Spirit of truth and will put the truth in our minds to counteract the wicked deceptions that Satan insinuates into the temple of God.

The Sabbath and the Sabbath day are two separate issues, either of which Jesus needs His children to defend and depend upon. Both are of utmost importance. The Sabbath day issue concerns Satan’s effort to pretend to be righteous, yet being unwilling to obey the Most High perfectly, in every respect. He will appear to obey nine of God’s ten, and be loud about that accomplishment. The devil will even overtly call for a union of all the world religions, with all of their professed morality. But, they will all deny one commandment, and come up with many excuses to do so, and in the end call the Day of the Lord another day than what the Lord of the Sabbath called the Sabbath day. “My holy day…the holy of the Lord.” (Isa. 58:13). “For the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day.” (Matt. 12:8). That day, in this verse’s context and in the context of the Jewish nation, was the seventh day of a week that they had and that we have today.

To deny just one commandment of the Father is a denial of the great God Himself, who commanded the seventh day to be a convocation before Him as Creator and Father of all. It is to deny that He is the supreme authority in heaven and earth. However insignificant the spiritualistic heathen religions may paint the fourth commandment of heaven’s foundation charter, if the Highest chose to sanctify the Sabbath day, ranking it fourth among His first foundational ten, then what creature, human or angelic, the lowest or the highest, the most ignorant or the wisest, has the authority to dismiss it or attempt to improve upon it by changing it to another day? And therefore, to join in the heathen’s diminishing of their Creator’s requirement of the seventh day Sabbath is to join in the great controversy against the Creator Himself.

“Through the two great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness, Satan will bring the people under his deceptions. While the former lays the foundation of spiritualism, the latter creates a bond of sympathy with Rome. The Protestants of the United States will be foremost in stretching their hands across the gulf to grasp the hand of spiritualism; they will reach over the abyss to clasp hands with the Roman power; and under the influence of this threefold union, this country will follow in the steps of Rome in trampling on the rights of conscience.” Great Controversy, p. 588.

In the above quotation we sense an immutable link between spiritualism and Sunday sacredness. Satan’s final push to bring all of humanity under his auspices comes in two forms, 1) the person worshiped (which affects the style of worship), and 2) the day of worship. Obedience to the Law of God, which reverences the day of His appointing, leads to His sanctification through communion with Him. His holy Day, the Day of the Lord, is a day to spend before the Law of the Lord, which converts the soul. Obedience to the Law of God while desecrating at least one of its commandments through a universal Sunday law, will send the world over the precipice into Satan’s ever deepening rebellion through communion with himself. Any form of union with Satan perverts the soul, which is what spiritualism is all about. Both of the two great errors of which Ellen White wrote lead to communing with Satan—spiritualism. The choice, then, for all of humanity is, “Who is on the LORD’s side?” (Ex. 32:26).

The willingness to accept even one human injunction, even if required by the United Nations, and even if the whole human race joins hand in hand in world unity to promote it, will create a bond of sympathy that the Church of Rome will surely use for drawing every soul into her fold by insidious serpentine reasoning. She has been approaching the Protestant world today in slow, silent, slithering movements. She whispers her duplicitous messages in a hushed, subliminal ventriloquism, “low out of the dust, and thy voice … as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.” (Isa. 29:4). Her ex-cathedra messages are never ad lib. Every word in its exact order, every syllable, every tone, every look, is choreographed. Before their presentation, each of her machinations is practiced to exquisite perfection.

The Jesuit locusts of Revelation 9 have almost finished their job of corrupting and weakening the Protestant world by devouring every soul that had faith. They have dismantled the Protestant high morality and its protection of the nations, and have socially brought us down to misery and to the dust of death. To a large extent misconceptions of biblical truth or total ignorance of it pervades the churches anymore. Willing ignorance leads to lawlessness. And lawlessness is spiritualism.

“The line of distinction between professed Christians and the ungodly is now hardly distinguishable. Church members love what the world loves and are ready to join with them, and Satan determines to unite them in one body and thus strengthen his cause by sweeping all into the ranks of spiritualism. Papists, who boast of miracles as a certain sign of the true church, will be readily deceived by this wonder-working power; and Protestants, having cast away the shield of truth, will also be deluded. Papists, Protestants, and worldlings will alike accept the form of godliness without the power, and they will see in this union a grand movement for the conversion of the world and the ushering in of the long-expected millennium.” Great Controversy, p. 588.

Today many don’t yet realize what they are doing in speaking against the truth by joining the war against the whole truth, in the subject of this post, against the Sabbath. And the new Christian in the video below is no less in the dark. God has children, many of them, in the Protestant churches, and a large number in the Catholic churches, who are more true to obey the light to the very best of their knowledge than a large number among Sabbathkeeping Adventists who do not walk in the light.… And shall no voice be raised of direct warning to arouse the churches to their danger?... God forbid.” The Ellen G. White 1888 Materials, p. 377.

The above statement segways into the second Sabbath issue, the Sabbath experience, its true intent for bringing us into communion with our sanctifying Lord of love. Ellen White’s statement above says that many Sabbatarian Adventists were not walking in the spirit of the Sabbath, even though they were keeping the letter of the Sabbath, the Sabbath day. When we don’t make the Sabbath day a true Sabbath with Jesus, when we find our conversations and our minds dwelling on common subjects rather than on holy subjects, then we deceive ourselves and misrepresent our Creator. We bear false witness to non-Sabbathkeepers and take His name in vain. We break three commandments, not just one.

We not only miss the blessing of His presence, squandering the little remaining time for His sanctifying presence to seal us in preparation for the huge troubles ahead, but we also advertise a wrong Sabbath experience to those around us. We give the world a bad impression of Jesus who loved Sabbathkeeping. He “went with [the people] to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.” (Ps. 42:4, cf John 5:39). If we trample the Sabbath and treat it as an unholy thing, then we cause “men [to abhor] the offering of the LORD.” (1Sam. 2:17). We are no less guilty before God for the same thing Eli’s sons did. “Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD.” (1Sam. 2:17). They paid the price for their rebellious insolence.

The Jesuit locusts’ concerted efforts are overspreading their lies in the churches to leaven them against the true Sabbath of God’s moral Law. And the people are being brought under the darkness of the overspreading abominations created by those locusts. Nevertheless, everyone who sees the less than beautiful Sabbathkeeping by Adventists and accepts the locusts’ arguments against God’s holy Sabbath day is unwittingly throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Therefore, we cannot condemn the new arrivals from drugs and atheism and the New occult and the gay life and the other world religions, etc. These precious souls have suffered under the dogmatic rule of Satan. They have been a prey to the demonic hosts. Then they get swayed from the truth when they join the Sunday churches.

“And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, My flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.” (Eze. 34:5,6).

But the Lord intervened to bring them to Himself. That is what these YouTube testimonies are about.

“For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search My sheep, and seek them out.
As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out My sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.
I will feed My flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD.
I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick.” (Eze. 34:11-16).

We mustn’t treat these genuine converts like they are part of the counterfeit revival. No, they are not like the lawless worshipers of the dragon through the beast. When these beloved children of the Lord find Him, they turn to the Bible and understand it. His presence in their peace-filled spirits means everything to them. They are truly preaching His gospel, testifying of His love and salvation. They are putting us Adventists to shame. If we speak against them because their doctrines aren’t perfect, then we are joining the Evangelicals who are allying against them. The publicans and sinners are braving the rejections of church people. Will we become their enemies too simply because they were taught to disregard the true day of worship, taught to celebrate and speak in tongues, taught to to believe in the pre-trib rapture?

No, we won’t. We will seek their friendship, as beloved brethren, and then we will counsel them on the truth we know, even as Aquila and Priscilla did to the mighty preacher Apollos. “And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.” (Acts 18:26).

Let us open our hearts to these new converts to Christ. Their new birth came out of much trauma. Their experience in the Lord is genuine. Every time they say the name “Jesus”, and “Jesus Christ”, it’s not with the ho-hum mind and stale way that we so often say heaven’s loveliest name. With them it’s a new, exciting experience. (We have so much to unlearn!) With joyful excitement they boldly call themselves Christians. The name of Jesus is exciting to them. He showed Himself to be their friend. They have the faith of Abraham, the friend of the Lord, the friendship which forms the whole basis for the new covenant and is the message that the New Testament showcased.

Rather than suspicion, Adventists should show these beloved Gentile immigrants into the one true God the same welcome that Boaz gave Ruth. “Thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore. The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.” (Ruth 2:11,12). Expressing, “The Lord”, means a lot to them. Not that His name is a novelty. Yes, it is a new part of their vocabulary, but it’s an expression that holds deep meaning to them. In the middle of other things they say, His name and telling of what He did for them gives them great pleasure. You can see it in their faces. Testifying of His goodness brings them a smile; He animates them. Only a short time before, He delivered them from the devourer. He, only weeks or months before, wrested them from the grip of the destroyers. Why shouldn’t they praise His holy name?

It is true that there is a real danger to believing that we need no more truth or condemnation after receiving the grace of Christ, i.e. Sabbathkeeping, standing before the Law of God for further conviction of sin, etc. And all of those truths need to be addressed. But maybe we are deficient in understanding what these new Christians have from above. Maybe they have an experience that we don’t have, but need.  We can learn something from them. “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” (Gal. 6:1).

Study them and their testimonies, not to find fault, but to find faith, the faith of Jesus. See their consistent inheritance of a new hunger for the Bible, and a new aptitude to understand it. They are now approaching the word of God from faith instead of from unbelief. The scriptures make perfect sense to them now, whereas before it was like, as one YouTube testifier called it, “reading Chinese”. They rejoice that the Bible is the most relevant book in the world, even the King James Version! They are excited about the Bible as the word of God, and they cling to it as they cling to Him. Is not this what was happening in the Protestant Reformation?

Adventists and Protestants need to come together and hash out our misunderstandings, the disconnect between their freedom in the Spirit of Christ and our Judgment Day message, their joy in the holy Spirit and our warnings of the dangers of a satanic wild man who knows he has but a short time for throwing this world into total depravity and disarray and darkness. We, Protestants and Adventists, need to come together to learn how we all can have the childlike trust with the Judgment Day fear of God. As it is written, “Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.” (Ps. 2:11,12). And, “Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear Him.” (Ps. 103:13). “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men…. For the love of Christ constraineth us.” (2Cor. 5:10,11,14).

We need to shuffle together both their obedience to the spirit of the Law and our obedience to the letter of the Law. We need the wisdom and trust of Jesus. We need the freedom in the Spirit that overcomes that satanic wild man. We need to receive the promise: “Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him.” (Ps. 91:14). We need what David had, who was a figure of Jesus.

For Thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
For by Thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
As for God, His way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him.
For who is God save the LORD? or who is a Rock save our God?
It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
Thou hast also given me the shield of Thy salvation: and Thy right hand hath holden me up, and Thy gentleness hath made me great.” (Ps. 18:28-35).

We don’t like to hear it, but we, Adventists, are repeating the sins of the ancient Jews, as Ellen White said we would; and we are reaping the same troubles.

“The Modern Church Repeating the History of Ancient Israel. The trials of the children of Israel, and their attitude just before the first coming of Christ, illustrate the position of the people of God in their experience before the second coming of Christ….
The apostle Paul plainly states that the experience of the Israelites in their travels has been recorded for the benefit of those living in this age of the world, those upon whom the ends of the world are come. We do not consider that our dangers are any less than those of the Hebrews, but greater.” Healthy Living, 1169-1173, p. 281.

We can then learn from The Desire of Ages about Ellen White’s assessment of the Jews at the first coming of Jesus, and of us just before the second coming of Christ.

“Through heathenism, Satan had for ages turned men away from God; but he won his great triumph in perverting the faith of Israel. By contemplating and worshiping their own conceptions, the heathen had lost a knowledge of God, and had become more and more corrupt. So it was with Israel. The principle that man can save himself by his own works lay at the foundation of every heathen religion; it had now become the principle of the Jewish religion. Satan had implanted this principle. Wherever it is held, men have no barrier against sin.” Desire of Ages, p. 35.

And the Protestants are repeating the sins of the ancient Gentiles, and reaping their diseases and devil possession. History in general is repeating almost in every particular.

“This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.” (Eph. 4:17-19).

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” (Rom. 1:28-32).

“At this time the systems of heathenism were losing their hold upon the people. Men were weary of pageant and fable. They longed for a religion that could satisfy the heart. While the light of truth seemed to have departed from among men, there were souls who were looking for light, and who were filled with perplexity and sorrow. They were thirsting for a knowledge of the living God, for some assurance of a life beyond the grave.
As the Jews had departed from God, faith had grown dim, and hope had well-nigh ceased to illuminate the future. The words of the prophets were uncomprehended. To the masses of the people, death was a dread mystery; beyond was uncertainty and gloom. It was not alone the wailing of the mothers of Bethlehem, but the cry from the great heart of humanity, that was borne to the prophet across the centuries,--the voice heard in Ramah, ‘lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.’ Matthew 2:18. In ‘the region and shadow of death,’ men sat unsolaced. With longing eyes they looked for the coming of the Deliverer, when the darkness should be dispelled, and the mystery of the future should be made plain.” Desire of Ages, p. 32.

“Among the Jews there were yet steadfast souls, descendants of that holy line through whom a knowledge of God had been preserved. These still looked for the hope of the promise made unto the fathers. They strengthened their faith by dwelling upon the assurance given through Moses, ‘A Prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; Him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever He shall say unto you.’ Acts 3:22. Again, they read how the Lord would anoint One ‘to preach good tidings unto the meek,’ ‘to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives,’ and to declare the ‘acceptable year of the Lord.’ Isaiah 61:1, 2. They read how He would ‘set judgment in the earth,’ how the isles should ‘wait for His law,’ how the Gentiles should come to His light, and kings to the brightness of His rising. Isaiah 42:4; 60:3.” Desire of Ages, p. 34.

“The dying words of Jacob filled them with hope: ‘The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come.’ Genesis 49:10. The waning power of Israel testified that the Messiah’s coming was at hand. The prophecy of Daniel pictured the glory of His reign over an empire which should succeed all earthly kingdoms; and, said the prophet, ‘It shall stand forever.’ Daniel 2:44. While few understood the nature of Christ’s mission, there was a widespread expectation of a mighty prince who should establish his kingdom in Israel, and who should come as a deliverer to the nations.
The fullness of the time had come. Humanity, becoming more degraded through ages of transgression, called for the coming of the Redeemer. Satan had been working to make the gulf deep and impassable between earth and heaven. By his falsehoods he had emboldened men in sin. It was his purpose to wear out the forbearance of God, and to extinguish His love for man, so that He would abandon the world to satanic jurisdiction.
Satan was seeking to shut out from men a knowledge of God, to turn their attention from the temple of God, and to establish his own kingdom. His strife for supremacy had seemed to be almost wholly successful. It is true that in every generation God had His agencies. Even among the heathen there were men through whom Christ was working to uplift the people from their sin and degradation. But these men were despised and hated. Many of them suffered a violent death. The dark shadow that Satan had cast over the world grew deeper and deeper.” Desire of Ages, p. 35.

There needs to be another Acts 15 Jerusalem conference. Let us initiate those talks. Let us mingle with the truly surrendered, freedom reveling Protestants as alienated brethren who desire their good, because we do desire their good. Let us realize their needs and our need for them. And let us minister to their needs. Let us gain their trust and then introduce the distinctive doctrines that Jesus has given us to present to this darkening world. Let us show them the fearful immutability of the righteousness of God in the Law; but let us also show the indelible character of Jesus in the Law. And let them show us the joy in the Holy Spirit that overcomes the world. Then we will find a beautiful union with these precious souls. Then the prophecy will be fulfilled,

“And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and His rest shall be glorious.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
And He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.” (Isa. 11:10-13).

All exclusiveness and spiritual ambitions will cease and the Latter Rain will begin.

“They shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall He shake His hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.
And there shall be an highway for the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.” (Isa. 11:14-16).

“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances [human constructs, misconceptions of God’s requirements, church traditions, the commandments of men]; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.” (Eph. 2:11-18).

I will make four last quotes from the prophet of the Lord to show that the recent abundance of YouTube testimonies should awaken Adventists to them as huge sign of the approaching Latter Rain and Jesus’ soon return.

“I saw that God had children who do not see and keep the Sabbath. They have not rejected the light upon it. And at the commencement of the time of trouble, we were filled with the Holy Ghost as we went forth and proclaimed the Sabbath more fully.… This enraged the churches and nominal Adventists, … as they could not refute the Sabbath truth. And at this time God’s chosen all saw clearly that we had the truth, and they came out and endured the persecution with us.” Early Writings, p. 33.

“Notwithstanding the widespread declension of faith and piety, there are true followers of Christ in these churches. Before the final visitation of God’s judgments upon the earth there will be among the people of the Lord such a revival of primitive godliness as has not been witnessed since apostolic times. The Spirit and power of God will be poured out upon His children. At that time many will separate themselves from those churches in which the love of this world has supplanted love for God and His word. Many, both of ministers and people, will gladly accept those great truths which God has caused to be proclaimed at this time to prepare a people for the Lord’s second coming. The enemy of souls desires to hinder this work; and before the time for such a movement shall come, he will endeavor to prevent it by introducing a counterfeit. In those churches which he can bring under his deceptive power he will make it appear that God’s special blessing is poured out; there will be manifest what is thought to be great religious interest. Multitudes will exult that God is working marvelously for them, when the work is that of another spirit. Under a religious guise, Satan will seek to extend his influence over the Christian world.” Great Controversy, p. 464.

“‘Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly. . . . But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.’ Psalm 1:1-3. It is only as the law of God is restored to its rightful position that there can be a revival of primitive faith and godliness among His professed people. ‘Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.’ Jeremiah 6:16.” Great Controversy, p. 478.

So, on with the following video that espouses a gospel that rejects the Sabbath. She knows Jesus, but doesn’t understand the Sabbath or the blessing that Jesus is waiting to give her through it—she doesn’t understand yet! But she articulates well the search for Christ and the walk with Christ. Her experience has taught her the science of righteousness by faith by Jesus. She knows Jesus and loves to proclaim Him.

“Those who are the partakers of the grace of Christ will be ready to make any sacrifice, that others for whom He died may share the heavenly gift. They will do all they can to make the world better for their stay in it. This spirit is the sure outgrowth of a soul truly converted. No sooner does one come to Christ than there is born in his heart a desire to make known to others what a precious friend he has found in Jesus; the saving and sanctifying truth cannot be shut up in his heart. If we are clothed with the righteousness of Christ and are filled with the joy of His indwelling Spirit, we shall not be able to hold our peace. If we have tasted and seen that the Lord is good we shall have something to tell. Like Philip when he found the Saviour, we shall invite others into His presence. We shall seek to present to them the attractions of Christ and the unseen realities of the world to come. There will be an intensity of desire to follow in the path that Jesus trod. There will be an earnest longing that those around us may ‘behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.’ John 1:29.” Steps to Christ, p. 78.
