“Oh, the unspeakable greatness of that exchange,—the Sinless One is condemned, and he who is guilty goes free; the Blessing bears the curse, and the cursed is brought into blessing; the Life dies, and the dead live; the Glory is whelmed in darkness, and he who knew nothing but confusion of face is clothed with glory.”

More on the Spirit of the God of love

So, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is the law of the Spirit of love from Christ Jesus. If we will come to the point that Paul did in his own genuine yearning for righteousness, and if we realize the exceeding wretchedness of our sinful nature to the point of despairing to ever get past the barrier of sin in our nature, after using all the willpower and intellectual ascent we can muster, then we will realize Paul's horrific thirst for mercy and LOVE!

All of the Father's business has to be more than just busyness! But, simply going through the motions is all religion is without His Spirit. The Father's business is just busyness. Our work is just busy work. Everything is meaningless. It's a Laodicea that never had a first love to lose.

But Jesus' being about His Father's business was far deeper than empty rounds of action. Jesus, from conception until the last supper, was flooded with His Father's love and acceptance. And no man, before Messiah or ever since, has ever been so  joyful, and thus so obedient.

"Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, Thy God, hath anointed Thee with the oil of gladness above Thy fellows." (Psa. 45:7).

There has to be more to eternity than living with a God who wants only business! And performance evaluations! Isn't this misconception the big reason why the atheistic/ secular/ transgender/ pagan world is so at odds with their Creator Father? They see Him as the universe's biggest tyrant. True, they are taken over by self-indulgence. But, their lack-of-love,-tyrant God misconception is constantly exacerbating and perpetuating their rebellion. And a world of Laodiceans isn't helping matters.

Why would anyone make an effort to get to God if it were just to mean a continuous round of religious practices and being a do-gooder for all eternity. That's as bad as sitting on a cloud strumming a harp forever and being expected to like it. But, this is pure unbiblical nonsense. It's the concoctions of men and demons passing for truth.

God has promised to fill the world's atmosphere with joy and love, every heart breathing in deep draughts of peace in every inspiration. Oxygen? It will go the way of the Sun for light--still present, but no longer the main source of life. And the children of God enjoy that eternal, infinite life today, not by believing their good-living is good enough for God, but by eskewing that abominable idea, and repenting to God in utter despair to please Him, like Paul did. To them  heaven's powerful transformation came first through a faith that appeared in their hearts from the wrestling with God's Law, and admitting their wretchedness. Then being presented to the Spiritless body of the Son and accepting the unspeakable offer of love from God's redeeming Spirit of love through His highly exalted Son. God's love is the only way to obey God. Only God's religion of life leads mankind to God. Every other religion is self-made and always leads away from Him to death. Paul penned it like this,

"If there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe." (Gal. 3:21,22).

Because God's love has been blotted from our thinking, His requirements do not give us life and the motivation to do them.

But, the fear of being eternally lost, as Jacob and Paul had, ground us into the dust. We were humbled and needy and prepared for the greatest of all gifts, the promised holy Spirit, God's promised gift of purity and holiness in Ezekiel 36:26, "a new heart I give you, a new Spirit will I put within you", "the powers of the world to come" (Heb. 6:4).

"That we should be to the praise of His (the Father's) glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory." (Eph. 1:12-14).

The Spirit of love is God's revelation sent to all who have agonized in the effort to "serve the Law" (Rom. 7:25), to be subject to the Law of God" (Rom. 8:7), and to bow at the feet of His perfect Sacrifice, the Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world.

So, what is the holy Spirit of promise?  It is the promised new heart/ mind/ spirit.

"After those days (600 years of discipline), saith the Lord, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people." (Jer. 31:33).

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." (Eze. 36:26).

Love is the gift of God. It's the courtesy gift for giving God the freedom to continuously grade His children's performance. Great news! While love is raining down from heaven, no burden is too heavy, no command is impossible. No work is too hard, as long as abundant love hugs us tightly from our Father God.

Cursed is every child of Adam who trusts in man's love, whose heart departeth from the Lord. The love of the world is selfish, moody, iffy, short, conditional, unreliable. But, we can depend on the ever burning love from the Father and His only begotten Son. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord and in His infinitely enduring, patient, unconditional love to all who humble themselves and receive the body of the Son that is resurrected and filled with the fullness of God more than when He walked here with sinners.

"Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him." (Psa. 103:13).

Yay! I'll fear Him! I'll fear Him! I'll trade fear for pity and obedience for love any day, every day, for eternity. So long as love will be there, I say, Critique me now. Let's start eternity now!
