“Oh, the unspeakable greatness of that exchange,—the Sinless One is condemned, and he who is guilty goes free; the Blessing bears the curse, and the cursed is brought into blessing; the Life dies, and the dead live; the Glory is whelmed in darkness, and he who knew nothing but confusion of face is clothed with glory.”

A text to a friend

Me: Brother, did you tell me one time that theology is the highest of all studies? I agree because it is the study of the Creator of the universe and of the thoughts of those who the Omniscient One made the wisest of men.

“Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon Him for?
And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?” (Deut. 4:5-8).

Theology isn’t just the study of the Bible, but the study of the mind and character of Christ and of God. That makes it the science of all sciences and should earn a bachelors, masters, and higher, science degrees. It studies the Creator who made all the laws that all the sciences study. Without God’s infinite never-ending, relentless love we have no rest day or night. We have a God-sized hole in our little hearts. Our nerves are forever jangling and it drieth the bones.

What sciences in classical education will ever fix the societal and personal arising from the lack of love none have so far? They are ever learning but never able to come to a solution for this problem. So this atheistic world continues to plummet in its lethal tailspin. Money doesn’t make the world go around. Love does. Give me my science degree!

I speak for Him who has made humanity and knows what makes us tick. I speak for Him who will make man’s wisdom foolishness and turn diviners mad. “For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” (1Cor. 1:19). “Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, and He that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by Myself; that frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish.” (Isa. 44:24,25). The wisest of men wrote, “Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” (1Cor. 1:20,21).

“For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
That no flesh should glory in His presence.
But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (1Cor. 1:26-31).

“As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.” (Rom. 9:33). “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.” (1Pet. 2:6-8).

The world has again stumbled at that Stumbling block. The world has come to believe that God is foolishness. Even though the scientific community may consider me a fool, I am a disciple of the Master Teacher, and His laws have become my wisdom. He is my hero; and in Him will I trust. Christians may be considered the off-scouring of the world, but we are only earthen vessels that hold this amazing scientific treasure, the word of God.

Daniel: Amen! Theology is called “the queen of sciences.”

Me: Amen! But I prefer to give it the title, “the king of sciences”.
