Peace and safety
Akin to G3601; a pang or throe especially of childbirth: - pain sorrow travail."
Matthew 24:8 Jesus spoke of a world in turmoil on many fronts.
"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places." (Matt. 24:6,7).
Birth contractions don't come at once in full force travail. And what the Lord described sounds like a fully involved time of trouble. He painted a world war with natural disasters of every sort afflicting the inhabitants of Earth.
It will get even worse. Because then He adds, "All these are the beginning of sorrows." How can it get worse than the human race suffering every kind of fear? But He called a world in upheaval only the start of birth contractions. Birth contractions begin small, building with rest periods of 3 to 5 minutes that end in short periods of 30 seconds to 2 minutes, and periods of travail that grow in length of time and level of pain. The first period of rest is a long, peaceful one and the last ones hardly bring any refreshing or peace of mind.
Is the world today entering the first respite when all is peace and safety? We see signs of potential for endless turbulence: The resurgence of extremist Islamic fundamentalists; America accusing powerful, militarized China all responsibility for the plandemic; the dismal economic condition since Covid shutdowns began and the strange appearance of violent social activism; the chaos in the national election process of the most stable constitutional republic in the world; the trillion dollar giveaways from a broke budget and a lack of economic health that has long been blaring its signs of total market collapse.
Are the leaders forcing America, the world's foremost free nation, to die? A lot of people don't believe so. They say we will weather this storm like we have all the ones before. They know their Protestant Bibles, how unholy Belshazzar trusted in his high walled Babylon, and was slain the same night of the hand writing on the wall.
Some are believing that God promised to bless America and that He will never leave us or forsake us. They falsely lay claim to the following biblical promise:
"Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is His name: If those ordinances depart from before Me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of (Protestantism) for all that they have done, saith the Lord." (Jer. 31:35-37).
But that's all wishful thinking. These false shepherds and sheep who proclaim smooth sailing are repeating the history of Jeremiah chapter 23. The precondition for the above promise was the very Law of God written in the hearts of the nation. That promise didn't come the first time until the "chosen generation, royal priesthood, holy nation, peculiar people" (1Pet. 2:9) apostolic church was born because the Son of God was sent to die for our sinful world. How do today's churches compare to the apostolic church? Aren't the first apostles, the men personally handpicked by the Holy One of God, the example for today's professed people of God? Isn't the doctrine of our fathers the standard for the church today, as was Abraham, Isaac, and Israel for the twelve tribes of Israel?
What did our holy forefathers say of the Law? "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." (Rom. 3:31).
"Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." (Jas. 2:18-26).
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." (Matt. 5:17-20).
"For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." (Jas. 1:23-25).
Striving for perfect obedience to the whole Law was the condition for God's eternal protection:
"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which My covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After these days, saith the Lord, I will put My Law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more." (Jer. 31:31-34).
But Satan has been able to stop the Law from getting written on the hearts of His church. All the denominations have abrogated their Lord's Ten Commandments and the rest of His Old Testament. They won't let the Law condemn their sins anymore; their presumption against the Most High they have institutionalized in a doctrine, essentially written it in stone. To speak against this abomination dressed in white is to be called a heretic a cult.
Having denounced the holy Law of God, they have lost their spiritual compass. They spend their worship services celebrating everything under the sun, worshiping those things under the sun. For, "He that turneth away his ear from hearing the Law, even his prayer shall be abomination." (Prov. 28:9).
How can God be worshipped by them who reject His commandments? The Law scourges the churches' consciences. "Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love." "But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam...." "Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication...."
"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."
"For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the Father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye (of the same mother but not the same Father), and not (My) sons." (Heb. 12:6-8).
And the remnant are joining in with the apostate Protestants. "We celebrate this!" and "We celebrate that!" I reiterate, isn't it time to afflict our souls? Despotic Babylon is knocking at the gates of the free world. Are we awake to the emergency?
And because we refuse to listen to the prophet God sent for just this time, the rest of the warning to the ancient Jews applies to the Protestant churches and the remnant church today.
"In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge." (Vs. 29, 30).
Yes, Satan has bewitched us by our own beloved pastors. We are now unable to be sealed with the seal of the living God. That means we cannot prepare for the Latter Rain, which would prepare for the great tribulation/time of trouble such as never was, which would prepare for Jacob's troubles, which would prepare us for Jesus at His return in overwhelming power and destructive power.
Unless there arises a quick about face in the Protestant disposition to the last days prophet, Ellen G. White, who never preached celebration, but only ever faithfully warned of the uphill battle ahead, only an unimaginably few will be saved from the wrath to come. As it was in the days of Noah, when only eight souls entered the ark, all who eskew the Spirit of Prophecy will do so to their eternal ruin.
"Peace and safety!" "Peace and love!" "Peace and rest!" "Sleep on, my little dearies! Sleep on!", says the son of perdition that rides the Beast and wears the scarlet slippers.
But what saith the Lord? "How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: so shall thy poverty (of soul) come as one that travelleth, and thy want (for assurance from above) as an armed man." (Prov. 6:9-11).
"And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: and they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst." (Amos 8:10-13).
