“Oh, the unspeakable greatness of that exchange,—the Sinless One is condemned, and he who is guilty goes free; the Blessing bears the curse, and the cursed is brought into blessing; the Life dies, and the dead live; the Glory is whelmed in darkness, and he who knew nothing but confusion of face is clothed with glory.”

Trouble on the horizon

This comic appeared on http://bythebookcomics.blogspot.com/, an anti-Christianity blog, on April 1st.

It pains me to show this insulting comic. But in all seriousness, it indicates that we are on the verge of a storm. If the words are too small or blurred, if you dare read it, just click on the picture for enlargement.

“The wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” Dan. 12: 10.

It’s not that the anti-Christian sentiments can’t be forgiven. “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.” (Matt. 12:31-32).

We don’t know the heart of the comic writer. He could enter the kingdom before I do. I may never enter. Today, he could probably care less about his relation to eternity. But that can change. Everything is subject to change when the Latter Rain of the Holy Spirit begins.

Another concern here is what will happen as these kinds of cartoons make the headlines among the denominations? Certainly, an uproar will ensue. It should be no surprise if the Fundamentalist Christians go on the offense.

The worst trouble in this scenario is that Bible prophecy says that the Protestants will invite the Papacy to re-establish itself again, and here in America. All that those politically established and seasoned denominations need is enough fire-power to leverage the White House into more talks with the Vatican. The next crisis will be a crumbling society beyond human repair. The next war will be on immorality as a pretext against anti-Christian behavior, sentiments, and fundamentalist power underminement.

As it was 2,000 years ago, it will happen again. As the pagan element of the Roman empire fought against the burgeoning population of a apostatizing Christianity, but could not prevail, so will a Christian world overcome atheistic secularism today. Just as the papal empire arose from the foundations of pagan Rome and thus eclipsed and replaced in the power positions of Roman politics, so are the Evangelical Fundamentalists already quickly filling important places within all three branches of the U.S. government.

All that the religio-politically powerful elite need today is a moral crisis in our country. And the anti-Christian forces are giving it to them.
