The aims of Ecumenism

“For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) but to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in HIM; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him.” (1Cor. 8:5,6).

There is only one God, the King, and HIS Son, Prince Jesus. We can call on no other gods. This sounds terribly elementary, and it might sound like I’m beating a dead horse. But, again and again it is becoming a very subtle issue in the news.

I was talking to someone about the current crisis in Protestantism, how that the protest is over and that the Pope and the Vatican have been proclaiming it so. After a small exchange, the person told me about a book entitled, How do you spell God? I thought she was thinking I had been dogmatic and that she was going to spell God, “L-O-V-E”. But, instead she began to talk about Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. In her thinking, all of those religions are no different from the religion of the Bible, and no one should exalt the Bible’s Creator over the other persons of worship. In her view, raising one religion over another isn’t politically correct, and it is the cause of wars throughout history and in our day.

But, every Christian, and especially the Pope, should accept only the name of the God of Abraham and of Moses. “I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by My name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.” (Ex. 6:3).

“And [Jonah] said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear [JEHOVAH], the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.” (Jon. 1:9).

The above person with whom I was speaking got upset and said that all religions are equally valid and that no one religion should force another religion to bow before it, that each of their respective holy men is no better than another. She said that they are all equally loved and respected. And this is even espoused by the high priest of Christianity, the pope.

But, what does the real High Priest of Christianity, Christ Himself, have to say about all of His competitors?

He says, “This is life eternal, that they might know THEE the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom THOU hast sent.” (John 17:3).

There is only one valid religion in the Bible—the ancient Hebrew religion that the Lord carried over into His apostolic church. There has only ever been one true God, JEHOVAH, and HIS representative, God’s only true only begotten Son, whose name is also JEHOVAH. The Son of God carries His Father’s name, a practise that the children of Adam have continued. “Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of Him, and obey His voice, provoke Him not; for He will not pardon your transgressions: for MY name is in Him.” (Ex. 23:20,21).

Since the beginning, it would never ever do for any child of Adam to call on or love or bow to a god other than his Creator—no Buddha, no Brahma, no Krishna, no Allah, no animist’s tree god or rock god or river god. Our Creator was emphatic about this. To provoke the Angel, who was Christ, was to defy His sole rulership over the holy people, and to reap the terrible repercussions.

Speaking through Jeremiah, Jesus showed that the Jews were allowing for a fellowship of gods with their God and His joyful, truly redemptive, comforting religion, just as Christianity is doing today. “Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children’s children will I plead. For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing. Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but My people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.” (Jer. 2:9-11).

Can it be that Protestant America has fallen into the same abomination that Israel fell into over and over again? Most Americans have no idea that they are Protestants. But, even though multitudes might call themselves agnostic, atheistic, hedonistic, or, happily non-religious, they are descendents of Protestantism and their U.S. Constitution is Protestant, being that it gives freedoms and rights to its citizens, and it separates religion and state. Today Americans are all Protestants. They are no different than the ancient Israelites, and both ancient children of Israel and the modern counterpart of the holy people have changed their God and their glory for worthless trinkets. The problem is so pervasive that everyone is as blind to the change today as the Jews were then.

“I am the LORD [JEHOVAH]: that is My name: and My glory will I not give to another, neither My praise to graven images.

Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
Sing unto the LORD [JEHOVAH] a new song, and His praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

Let them give glory unto the LORD [JEHOVAH], and declare His praise in the islands.” (Isa. 42:8-12).

Jehovah never authorized any other person beside HIM and HIS Son to be worshiped. “And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto HIM that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” (Rev. 5:13). How then can the pope think that he can change the will of his Creator which was made very plain in writing a thousand years before there was the first pope? And how can he tempt the Protestant people of God into the same apostasy, if he is not the enemy? “He shall speak great words against the most High...and think to change times and laws.” (Dan. 7:25). Accusing and accosting the Most High and changing biblical doctrine is blasphemy and a heinous crime against heaven. “I...saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads... and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.” (Rev. 13:1). The seven heads speak of the holy look this ravenous power would have.

Being that the pope is brokering the ecumenism of every heathen religion in the world, he gets the center of every religion’s focus. And being that his exponentially multiplying army of Jesuits have spread violence around the globe (ISIS) which he has now restrained temporarily in order to appear the world’s savior and peace-giver, he gets the highest place of adoration from humanity. The preceding verse of Daniel 7:25 repeats in a different setting. “The king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.” (Dan. 11:36).

The reason the Lord required that He be called by the name, JEHOVAH, is because He has always had a rival by another similar name; that is, Baal (meaning, “The Lord”). The people kept forgetting about the one true Lord JEHOVAH because of the one false lord, Baal. So, HE exposed Baal’s deception by revealing HIS own name. Their names identified the true and the false, distinguishing the pure from the depraved, the holy from the satanic.

“How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; which think to cause My people to forget My name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten My name for Baal.” (Jer. 23:26,27).

But, Jesus was very careful to reconcile His disciples and followers to His Father, and to know His Father through HIS name. “And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to THEE. Holy Father, keep through THINE own name those whom THOU hast given Me, that they may be one, as We are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in THY name: those that THOU gavest Me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled…. And I have declared unto them THY name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith THOU hast loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” (John 17:11,12,26).

Fidelity to JEHOVAH’s name would forever be the requirement upon His people, even after He punished them for following other gods.

“And it shall come to pass, if they [the pastors of the Diaspora Jews] will diligently learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, The LORD [JEHOVAH] liveth; as they taught My people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of My people. But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD [JEHOVAH].” (Jer. 12:16,17).

Jehovah alone rules His people. They hear His voice and they follow Him. Another voice they will not hear, but will flee from it. For them to serve Baalim, His primary adversary, is an affront that He can never accept. This He made plain in His second of the Ten Commandments, which He boomed from the top of Sinai. “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me.” (Ex. 20:5).

“I am the LORD [JEHOVAH], and there is none else, there is no God beside Me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known Me: that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside Me. I am the LORD [JEHOVAH], and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD [JEHOVAH] do all these things.” (Isa. 45:5-7).

JEHOVAH alone saved Israel from slavery, and in the process He put to shame all the Egyptian gods, including Pharaoh, who was another god and high priest of Baal.

“And [JEHOVAH] said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith [JEHOVAH] God of the Hebrews, Let My people go, that they may serve Me. For I will at this time send all My plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like Me in all the earth. For now I will stretch out My hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth. And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee My power; and that My name may be declared throughout all the earth.” (Ex. 9:13-16).

The God of the Bible is the only powerful God, and that God was Christ. To Pope Francis and all the beatified popes, to Buddha, Krishna, Brahma, et cetera, the LORD Jesus Christ says, “The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.” (Isa. 2:17). “Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou has said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God.” (Eze. 28:2). To the world the Lord JESUS admonishes, “Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?” (Isa. 2:17,22).

“Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” (Ps. 146:3,4).

“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is…. I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” (Jer. 17:5-7,10).

Only JEHOVAH and His holy Child JESUS must receive praise and adoration.

“Blessed be the LORD [JEHOVAH] God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.

And blessed be His glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with His glory; Amen, and Amen.” (Ps. 72:18,19).

“As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD [JEHOVAH] caused him [Israel] to rest: so didst Thou lead Thy people, to make Thyself a glorious name.” (Isa. 63:14).

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.” (Phil. 2:9,10).

His name can never be classed with other created beings, whether they be angelic or human or demonic. Only JEHOVAH reigns supreme and only HE truly blesses.

“Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
The LORD [JEHOVAH] bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD [JEHOVAH] make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD [JEHOVAH] lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
And they shall put My name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.” (Num. 6:23-27). Whether good behaving or misbehaving, His people received this blessing every day. His mercy endureth forever.
“But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him: and in My name shall his horn be exalted.” (Ps. 89:24).
“Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name.” (Ps. 91:14).

And all others who desire worship are imposters and thieves and robbers, who come to kill and to steal and to destroy. But, JEHOVAH is near to save any and all whose hearts will be humbled, and who will again accept His Law and return to Him.

“Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.
Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
For thus saith the LORD [JEHOVAH], Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.
For thus saith the Lord GOD [JEHOVAH], My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.
Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD [JEHOVAH], that My people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD [JEHOVAH]; and My name continually every day is blasphemed.
Therefore My people shall know My name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am He that doth speak: behold, it is I.
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” (Isa. 52:1-7).

“O LORD [JEHOVAH], my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto Thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know Mine hand and My might; and they shall know that My name is The LORD [JEHOVAH].” (Jer. 16:19-21).

Israel was grievously punished for including the worship of other personalities into the worship of JEHOVAH. What makes Protestant Americans believe that they can so brazenly group Jesus with Buddha et al, and do it without punitive measures from heaven?

“For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by My name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD [JEHOVAH] of hosts. Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD [JEHOVAH] shall roar from on high, and utter His voice from His holy habitation; He shall mightily roar upon His habitation; He shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.” (Jer. 25:29,30).

“If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD [JEHOVAH] THY GOD; then the LORD [JEHOVAH] will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.” (Deut. 28:58,59).

Protestantism, especially in America, has diverted so far from the Reformation of 500 years ago, that it is following the pagan religions of the world. Protestantism has adopted them into its fellowship, and its practices and many gods are Protestantism’s practices and gods.

Jehovah gave His apostolic church the beautiful bread basket of Europe, a land flowing with milk and honey. The continent was a land of Goshen for the church to thrive under His spiritual leadership. But, the church lost its first love for its God and apostatized. Every form and sacrament of paganism entered into its communion and turned it into the beast in Daniel 7, the same little horn in Daniel 8 and the king of the north in Daniel 11 and the first beast Revelation in 13:1-7, all of them the same evil organization that persecuted the people of the Lord during the Dark Ages of Europe. Nevertheless, throughout that dark time Jesus kept His church planted in the wilderness, where He protected it from its deadly enemy.

“The Roman Church now presents a fair front to the world, covering with apologies her record of horrible cruelties. She has clothed herself in Christlike garments; but she is unchanged. Every principle of the papacy that existed in past ages exists today. The doctrines devised in the darkest ages are still held. Let none deceive themselves. The papacy that Protestants are now so ready to honor is the same that ruled the world in the days of the Reformation, when men of God stood up, at the peril of their lives, to expose her iniquity. She possesses the same pride and arrogant assumption that lorded it over kings and princes, and claimed the prerogatives of God. Her spirit is no less cruel and despotic now than when she crushed out human liberty and slew the saints of the Most High.” Great Controversy, p. 571.

Then the Lord delivered His wilderness church and gave them another land of Goshen, flowing with milk and honey. The Americas were another frontier, completely untouched by the corruptions of the rest of the world. Satan claimed the southern continent with his Jesuits and Catholicism, and Jesus laid claim to the northern continent with His American Reformers, and their first and second Great Awakenings to the Spirit of God. But, they eventually also left their first love; and their candlestick has also been removed. Their light has gone out; they no longer carry the torch of truth to humanity. They have repeated the history of the ancient post-apostolic church, and are becoming the beast of Revelation 13:11-17.

This second beast of Revelation 13 rebuilds the intolerant, persecuting church of the first beast, which destroyed the holy people. “And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” (Rev. 13:5-7). “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” (Dan. 7:25).

The second beast of Revelation 13 has two little horns of a lamb—Protestantism and Republicanism—the greatest peace making principles world history has ever witnessed. Built upon the legacy of Moses and David, and then reinstituted by Christ, our Prince and Saviour, the holy religion of the Protestant Reformation and its civil Constitution of responsible self-government brought new life to the church and freedom again to the world. But, before it could shed itself completely of all the pagan errors and corrupted doctrines of the Dark Ages, the children of the Reformation set their hearts on the real estate slipped away from the Lord’s original calling for it. Satan worked with a vengeance to regain every square inch of ground he lost to Bible religion. He moved his earthly agency to destroy the Bible from the European continent and Bible religion from the hearts of the people.

But, when the Lord providentially opened up the American continent to His beleaguered church, she escaped the flood of Jesuit persecution and she lived in peaceful seclusion. “And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.” (Rev. 12:15,16). Today we are seeing the final stage of that deliverance. “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Rev. 12:17).

The final events of the persecuted church are fast playing out, as that church of the Dark Ages’ wilderness has already largely morphed into the second beast of Revelation 13, and is rebuilding the same killing Inquisitions from which it once fled. Under the purview of the first beast, the Vatican, American Protestantism has become politically-motivated, rather than spiritual. Its focus on the “the Spirit” has taken away its focus on the Prince and Savior, and the light of its candlestick has almost completely been put out. Soon, the “venerable day of the Sun” will again receive sacredness as national Sunday legislation will force all Americans, church and unchurched, to join the churches of Protestantism and Catholicism.

This will come as a huge shock to the unchurched, liberty-loving Americans who live as they please and want only freedom from religion. All their freedoms will go away because their Constitution that guaranteed those freedoms will go away. And all of this is punishment from the God of Protestantism for its presumption on the God of love. They cast behind them the Fount of all blessing, and hewed them out cisterns which can hold no water. Yet, they have dared to think that it is their inherited right to have the freedoms which, out of His joy for their self-sacrificing forefathers, the God of Protestantism and the Bible gave them and their descendents as a gift of love. But, we have not been worthy of the gifts which He gave from His heart, and our freedoms have become the cause of our very destruction.

The churched Protestants have welcomed the rivals of Christ—Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Catholicism, and other world religions just as the ancient nation of Israel did prior to God cutting them off by ancient Babylon and its juggernaut Chaldean armies. The last strands of God’s mercy remain as long as His Bible has any influence in the hearts of the Protestants and Adventists. By pen and voice we need to sound the warning against the corruptions of the New Age churches of Protestantism and Old Age church of Catholicism. Because the day approaches rapidly, possibly within 11 months, when the Bible will be taken away and all protests will be considered horribly uncivil, terroristic, anti-peacemaking, and treasonous to the world government overseen by the Vatican. The only safety the servants of God will have will come by the providential covering of the Lord’s hand. “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.” (Ps. 34:7).

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming:

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2Thess. 2:8-12).

Jehovah will not restrain His vengeance much longer. “There shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time.” (Dan. 12:1). The last plagues will fall on everyone who has received into his heart the ancient occult system today advertised as, Spiritual Formation, and the new global totalitarian religion and governance—“the men which had the the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.” (Rev. 16:2). Everyone who hears the so-called “voice of God” through that pagan system which was borrowed from the eastern mystics of Hinduism, can never escape the pit of lawless grace from the familiar spirits which are ready to possess every victim of Spiritual Formation.

“Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come…. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” (Matt. 24:12-14,22). “At that time shall Michael stand up, the great Prince which standeth for the children of thy people…and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” (Dan. 12:1).

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” (Matt. 24:29,30). The living saints, who are purified by the preaching of the gospel and by the world-wide manhunt for them, will see a small black cloud coming from the open space of Orion.

“Soon there appears in the east a small black cloud, about half the size of a man’s hand. It is the cloud which surrounds the Saviour and which seems in the distance to be shrouded in darkness. The people of God know this to be the sign of the Son of man. In solemn silence they gaze upon it as it draws nearer the earth, becoming lighter and more glorious, until it is a great white cloud, its base a glory like consuming fire, and above it the rainbow of the covenant. Jesus rides forth as a mighty conqueror.—GC 640, 641. 

Soon our eyes were drawn to the east, for a small black cloud had appeared, about half as large as a man’s hand, which we all knew was the sign of the Son of man. In solemn silence we all gazed on the cloud as it drew nearer, and became lighter, glorious, and still more glorious, till it was a great white cloud. The bottom appeared like fire; a rainbow was over the cloud, while around it were ten thousand angels, singing a most lovely song; and upon it sat the Son of man. His hair was white and curly and lay on His shoulders, and upon His head were many crowns. His feet had the appearance of fire; in His right hand was a sharp sickle, in His left a silver trumpet. His eyes were as a flame of fire, which searched His children through and through.—1T 60.” Heaven, p. 31.

“Then all faces gathered paleness, and those that God had rejected gathered blackness. Then we all cried out, ‘Who shall be able to stand? Is my robe spotless?’ Then the angels ceased to sing, and there was some time of awful silence, when Jesus spoke: ‘Those who have clean hands and pure hearts shall be able to stand; My grace is sufficient for you.’ At this our faces lighted up, and joy filled every heart. And the angels struck a note higher and sang again, while the cloud drew still nearer the earth.
    Then Jesus’ silver trumpet sounded, as He descended on the cloud, wrapped in flames of fire. He gazed on the graves of the sleeping saints, then raised His eyes and hands to heaven, and cried, ‘Awake! awake! awake! ye that sleep in the dust, and arise.’ Then there was a mighty earthquake. The graves opened, and the dead came up clothed with immortality. The 144,000 shouted, ‘Alleluia!’ as they recognized their friends who had been torn from them by death, and in the same moment we were changed and caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air.” Early Writings, p. 15,16.

“And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power.” (2Thess. 1:7-9).
