The American people have spoken—the majority, that is—“America will be secular!” The shock waves are rattling the stained glass windows around the world. “Religious fundamentalism, Beware!”
But Bible prophecy will be fulfilled; a one world religion will be forced upon its multitudes. Protestantism will reach across the gulf it made almost 500 years ago and clasp hands with the Papacy. The union of church and state will hold the scepter.
“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” (Rev. 13:11-14).
The United States of America, initially compared to an innocent lamb because of its two young charters—Republicanism and Protestantism—speaks like a dragon. It makes an image of the Papacy which ruled Europe during the Dark Ages and forces religion, its brand of sacramental religion, upon the whole world through the puppet presidents of Protestantism.
The Papacy works best in a religio-political environment. When it can reward the powerful and wealthy for their loyalty to its aims, it finds the best success. It thrives like a cancer in that atmosphere, a cancer that nothing can stop.
Even in a republican nation, where the people choose who leads and who makes the laws, the Vatican can succeed in its work of controlling the conscience. All it needs is a relatively small group of key players in the economy and government. And this is being provided. Because real faith in God has evaporated, only hope in this world remains. When men only can hope in this world, they are easily bought. Earthly gifts and promises of comfortable stations in the power structures receives immediate acceptance.
All these promises and gifts to buy men’s souls the Vatican offers because it is an organization void of faith. If it had faith, why should it resort to politics and power? The same question can be levied against the Protestant fundamentalists. Where is your Lord, whose kingdom was “not of this world” (Jn. 18:36), and whom you profess to adore? “Betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?”
There are kings and there are kingmakers. This is not a new concept. Satan is the god of this world. His own confession, “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.” (Job 1:6,7). Satan was called the king of Babylon (Is. 14:4,12-14), the prince of Tyrus (Ez. 28:12,13), the prince of Persia (Dan. 10:13), and the head of every other worldly power (Eph. 6:12). Because trust and love hasn’t been the foundation of his heart and style of operation, he must use force to have his way. Thus, we see brutality, torture, and death as the underlying constitution in his vassal earthly governments.
In obedience to his wishes, his human representatives gear their work toward jockeying for the highest positions in life in order to steer nations and the world to conform to his devious plans to possess every soul. His human counterparts are the kingmakers and always have been. No world leader, in government or finance, can rise to the top of power without subscribing to the governing architecture of Satan. And they, like their leader, have used force in order to control since the days of Cain, who rose up and slew his brother.
The masterpiece of Lucifer’s control is the papal hierarchy. Our Lord pointed out that system in His sacred word. “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” (Dan. 7:25).
And again, “And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” (Rev. 13:5-8).
“He,” that system which personifies Satan’s work to destroy righteousness and love, “shall…think to change times and laws.” “The man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” (2Thess. 2:3,4) NIV.
No one else than the church of Rome has so feverishly rewritten history to cover its long record of haughty daring and perversity. No one else has so distorted righteous rule or blasphemed heaven by openly destroying through religion the right of man before God. As it is written, “To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High, To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.” (Lam. 3:34-36). John, in vision, stood amazed at such a sad success story. (Rev. 17:6,7).
So, even though at the present, it may seem that the world’s worst enemy has been worsted before its non-religious nemesis, the atheistic, secular world is still to be short-lived.
The message to the world hasn’t changed: Get with Jesus. Find in Him your sure friend and Savior from sin. Allow Him to bring you to surrender to His love, baptizing you in His forgiveness and grace. Stay with Him until He brings you to submission to His example of selflessness and humility, in spite of its poor reflection on your character. Because the day is surely coming, and hastens greatly, when “And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.” (2Thess. 2:8). He, it, will come as a great shock to stun everyone.
“And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, neither will He do evil.
Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.
The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy: for He shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.” (Zeph. 1:12-18).
Christians should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise, and this preparation they should make by diligently studying the word of God and striving to conform their lives to its precepts. The tremendous issues of eternity demand of us something besides an imaginary religion, a religion of words and forms, where truth is kept in the outer court. God calls for a revival and a reformation. The words of the Bible and the Bible alone, should be heard from the pulpit. But the Bible has been robbed of its power, and the result is seen in a lowering of the tone of spiritual life. In many sermons of today there is not that divine manifestation which awakens the conscience and brings life to the soul. The hearers cannot say, "Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?" Luke 24:32. There are many who are crying out for the living God, longing for the divine presence. Let the word of God speak to the heart. Let those who have heard only tradition and human theories and maxims, hear the voice of Him who can renew the soul unto eternal life. Prophets and Kings, p. 626.

It seems you already knew about Obama. I'm writing this on November 5th. We must be vigilent now more than ever.
